Loved the beautiful night sky, the stars were shining brightly. Enjoyed the boat guide, very knowledgeable. What I did not enjoy was the poor communication from the tour group. No catamaran as advertised, on the water for a very short time. No transportation from Puerto Rico, which is difficult. Underwhelming experience at the cost. This tour could be amazing with more assistance from the tour group prior to arrival.

wasn't visible with naked eyes, we could only see it through the phone camera. choose a dark day if you would like to get the best visibility.

This company is outstanding for families and people who want a smaller and more personal experience. We learned a lot and felt like Carlos personalized our experience to our family. These are outstanding young entrepreneurs who go above and beyond in all that they do.

We booked 4 kayaks for 8:30pm on a short cruise stop. My 2 teenagers were so excited for this unique adventure. They all rushed to get there on time, not finishing dinner and skipping dessert! At 8pm we got a text saying “bioluminescent tour 9:15. Confirm”. I was confused and asked for details. He said “you are booked for tonight”. I said we’re booked for 8:30, he replied “9:15 is better, darker and private tour”. I said we’re booked for 8:30 and are on our way ! At 8:30 our party waited at the meeting spot, but nobody was there. I texted him asking if they were in the right place, and he kept stalling saying he was coming. At 9:15, after waiting 45 minutes and being eaten up by mosquitoes, our party headed back to the ship! I believe they overbooked for 8:30 and stalled to 9:15 or later. My family had to get back to the ship, and their night was ruined. We paid $280.80 for nothing!

I was generally satisfied with the Isla Nena bio-bay boat tour itself. Our driver Ian was at the pick-up location on time and he was very polite and professional. The captain of the boat was also nice, informative and took the time to answer questions about the bay and the organisms living in the waters. I was disappointed that I attempted to contact Isla Nena with questions I had on two separate occasions - via their 787 number through WhatsApp as well as the ‘Contact tour operator’ messaging function through the Trip Advisor app - and never received a reply from either attempt. An opportunity for improvement would be more effective and timely communication. Otherwise, I was satisfied with the tour.

We had a magnificent evening—all thanks to Eddie, our guide—who is the spirit of the Bioluminescent Bay. He is a savant and taught us so much about nature, the ecosystem, Puerto Rico. I would go again 1,000 times! Our whole family was overwhelmed by his expertise and kindness—a true poet of nature.

This is the best option for experiencing the bioluminescent bay if kayaking is not your thing, like some hydrophobic members of our group… and it’s absolutely worth it. We took the boat tour at 6:30 pm. The tour guide was informative and kind. We got to see some needlefish, and even a big fish glowing in the bay. We also saw a weird bouncing light floating over the bioluminescent bay... so if you believe in ghosts/spirits, look out for them? :D You can’t miss this in Vieques!

Great experience thanks to Eddie, our very knowledgeable guide and captain. I never even knew these microorganisms existed until my trip to Vieques.
