My brother and I met Michael at the Aryle waterfall entrance. We did the rainforest and Argyle waterfall tour. We started with the Rainforest tour at Gilpin Trace, Michael was very knowledgeable and explained the history of the rainforest. He also talked about the flora and fauna. He also showed us the different types of birds of the rainforest, they were the hummingbirds, mannakins, thrushes and wrens. There was also other wildlife such as snakes, spiders and leafcutter ants. It was thoroughly enjoyable. We then went to on a short hike to the Argyle waterfall and it was beautiful, my brother had the wrong footwear so we couldnt explore further up the waterfall, which was a shame. I would definitely recommend Micahel as a tour guide!

Michael was brilliant. We went to the Argyle waterfall and rainforests tour. We were extremely lucky and saw many species of different native birds, Hummingbird nests, different trees and Cayman's. Very knowledgeable and patient tour guide with a friendly laughable attitude. Nothing was too much trouble. We had an amazing time.

Many other have also said this: Michael's knowledge of birds, their habits, calls and how to spot them is amazing. Message him directly with any questions - he was very fast to respond and organise my pick up time and location. If you're wondering, yes, we saw hummingbirds - in their natural environment in the rainforest.

Michael has an uncanny ability to both identify bird song & the birds themselves. There’s no way that we could have seen the number of birds without him. Go for the full day tour which includes the trip to Little Tobago & a very nice lunch.

Michael is a true treasure. His bird knowledge and expertise is extensive. He truly cares that we had a special experience while walking with him. He is a true local and was willing to answer all our questions. He even helped us find fresh papaya and told us who to take a boat ride with. Our experience on To ago was fantastic!

Micheal provided us with much more than a bird spotting tour, he shared his local knowledge of Tobago’s history and heritage during an informative drive to the ridge. He has expert knowledge of the local birds and their habitats making sure we managed to see a wide variety of birds during our tour. Would highly recommend Michael if you are looking for a bird spotting tour. Great customer service.

We were very impressed with Michael's knowledge and bird spotting ability. He knows huge amounts of wildlife not just the local birds but his local knowledge means he knows exactly where to find everything you could want to see.

Micheal was a phenomenal guide. Knew so much history about the rain forest and the island itself. He can spot birds that I would have never seen in a million years and knows where all the best spots to find them are. He was able to call in a lot of the birds we hoped to see. Incredibly friendly and amazing to talk to! Can not recommend him enough!

I found Michael through TripAdvisor and decided to book the 3 hour hike as I wanted to see and photograph some endemic birds. I booked through Viator and Michael called me straight away on WhatsApp to confirm a suitable date and time and sent me a picture of his car the day beforehand so I knew who would be picking me up, as I was on my own. Michael was punctual, polite and so knowledgeable. He was comfortable talking about his life on Tobago and answered anything you wanted to ask! We had a lovely scenic drive across the island to the Main Ridge nature reserve and beat the crowds to enjoy an hour or so in the rainforest. I was lucky enough to see 11 different birds including the Great Black Hawk and my personal favourites; the Blue Crowned Mot Mot and a male hummingbird incubating eggs in its nest (both pictured). After our hike, we carried on the drive and stopped in Castara to have a look around. Michael was happy to stop wherever you wanted and also offered to stop at Argyle Falls and a lake to see the caimans. He is clearly very passionate about his hometown and the local nature, often taking my camera to grab the shots I never would have got in time! I wouldn't hesitate to book Michael again or to recommend him to anyone wanting a tour by a friendly, professional guide who can add the personal touch by tailor making your trip.

We went out with Michael twice- once to the rainforest and then to Little Tobago by boat with snorkelling and lunch at Jemma’s Treehouse included. It was easy to call him directly to arrange our trips, his car was comfortable with air conditioning and his commentary en route very interesting. Both trips were excellent- we saw many many birds which we would never have spotted without his expert eye. His knowledge of the birds and their behaviour is very impressive. He was able to locate nests of Red billed Tropicbirds which were just amazing to see close up. The snorkelling was great fun and the boat trip on No Fear 3 exhilarating! Lunch at Jemma’s was delicious- as vegetarians we thoroughly enjoyed the veggie selection, especially the breadfruit pie! We had two great outings and would not hesitate to recommend Michael for a great birding experience and a tour of this beautiful island thrown in for good measure!
