The Painted Ladies are known worldwide from photos, guidebooks, film and TV shows such as "Full House". For locals, they are a cherished symbol of our city and our history. These are all private homes and are rarely open for viewing. The blue painted lady is one of the most original and preserved of the seven homes in this row. The interior reflects almost 174 years of this family's history in the city. It is not a recreation of an 1890s home, nor is it the tour meant as an inspiration for home décor or design. We hope guests find the period furnishings and paintings harmonious and the stories engaging.

This tour is not a good fit for small children under 12.

We accept single reservations- . However, there must be at least 2 guests per tour.

No photos or videos inside the home. Host will send you pics of the house and your group as an extra

Guests must commit to the full 90 minutes tour- (host cannot leave the tour to see you out)

Please No latecomers. After 5 minutes the tour moves from the steps inside...Tour is then closed.

Visitors must be able to do about 45 stairs in the one hour. Additionally, there are not always places to sit. Choose accordingly by your ability. This is a private home.

This tour is educational and entertaining. It is much more than just a chance to see inside a historic and iconic home, it’s a bit of a history lesson of the area, the city, and of course the house. It’s entertaining because the host and homeowner, George, is a delight. He is engaging and welcoming, and has some amazing family stories. He was very friendly and gracious in sharing his home. I highly recommend booking this tour.

This was such a great tour! George is passionate, knowledgeable, and incredibly generous with his home. The house is beautifully cared for with many original features. It’s such a treat to get to see one of these famous houses up close and personal. Take the tour while you can- George is almost as much of a local treasure as the house, and humans don’t last forever, sooo…. 😬

George is awesome! The house is full of history and really well preserved. It’s beautiful, and many of the rooms are still original to the house construction. More than that, really, the tour blew us away. George is so passionate and has so many stories, and runs a really well organized tour. We learned so much about the history of the houses and the neighborhood, and have been recommending this to everyone.

Wonderful your into the past. The owner is very proud of his home and rightly so. So much love has been put into the preservation of the home and along with seeing the home, you learn much of the history of that area of SF and of his family. A beautiful time capsule.

George did an amazing job of telling the history of his beautiful home, neighborhood, and of the city. It’s very apparent how much care and effort he has put into conserving the inside and outside of this iconic home. I would definitely recommend this tour to any visitor or native of San Francisco.

You come for the house tour and you fall in love with George. Incredibly gracious, open, and down to earth, this tour of George’s home is inspiring and entertaining, and you’ll leave wishing it could’ve been longer. Come on, how often do you get an inside sneak peek of one of the most iconic buildings in the world?! And the owner is total gem on top of all of that?! We can’t thank George enough for opening his home to us, and giving us a sneak peek into his own personal story too.
