The Do Eat Better Experience food tour is a walking tour in at least 4 stops, around the historical center of Bologna. The tourist is guided by a "Foodie", a local "buddy" able to explain every detail of the selected restaurants, their preparations, and the relevant history/curiosities.
Do Eat Better Experience tours are a mix of high-quality gastronomy as a way of showing Italian culture and lifestyle and a walking experience together with a local friend. This is the reason why we accept small groups only: we want to focus on a genuine exchange and give to each tourist the highest attention possible.

We always choose the best dishes, aiming to introduce you to our traditions, suggest the best restaurants and make you live the best culinary experience ever. With Do Eat Better you can make your visit to Bologna an unforgettable experience of eating Italy's best preparations. Here, you'll meet your local expert, who will guide you through this experience.
Fontana del Nettuno
The tour starts with fresh pasta like Ragù alla Bolognese Tagliatelle topped with local Parmesan Cheese. One, if not, the, quintessential first dish in Bologna. More versatile than the famous Lasagna, this dish will welcome you into Bologna while still leaving some space in your stomach for the following stops. In alternative you may be served Tortellini, served in broth, as the tradition commands, which is equally as typical.

Walking tour and food were good; a little more history and local stories would have been nice. We started with a tasting of 2 pastas, followed by little Bolognese sandwiches called tigli, then a type of pork cutlet & potatoes with a glass of wine, gelato and finally espresso. It was well spaced out over 3 hours.

I would highly recommend this tour! Matteo was very knowledgeable about the history of Bologna and showed us many cool sites that we wouldn’t have found on our own. As an added bonus we booked us a balsamic vinegar tasting that was really fun! The food was amazing!

From the off our guide Matteo guided through the history and sights of Bologna. We walked within the Centro Storico, old town, and through the 'gates' as were to see all the sights, piazza, porticos, remnants of a canal system etc. Stopping for meals and snacks, coffee and gelato, all delicious. We learnt a great deal about the local produce of wine, cheese and ham and comparison with other regions. Mattoe was keen to answer any questions as we sat or walked around, an excellent guide

Our guide gave us good information and very good advice, while explaining interesting facts about both food and Bologna culture. Valentina is an excellent guide, very friendly and who knew how to put us all at ease very quickly. She doesn’t hesitate to advise us on interesting things to do and see in Bologna and answer questions, whether related to food, culture or many other topics! We also had the chance to be a small group of five, which made the experience even more enjoyable, as we also had the opportunity to talk to each participant, talk about our own culture and make beautiful discoveries. We enjoyed every moment and had a great evening in very good company!
