The Do Eat Better Experience food tour is a walking tour in at least 4 stops, around the historical center of Bologna. The tourist is guided by a "Foodie", a local "buddy" able to explain every detail of the selected restaurants, their preparations, and the relevant history/curiosities.
Do Eat Better Experience tours are a mix of high-quality gastronomy as a way of showing Italian culture and lifestyle and a walking experience together with a local friend. This is the reason why we accept small groups only: we want to focus on a genuine exchange and give to each tourist the highest attention possible.
Please, note that the tour is always run in English and Italian; other languages upon request.

The tour starts with fresh pasta like Ragù alla Bolognese Tagliatelle topped with local Parmesan Cheese. One, if not, the, quintessential first dish in Bologna. More versatile than the famous Lasagna, this dish will welcome you into Bologna while still leaving some space in your stomach for the following stops. In alternative you may be served Tortellini, served in broth, as the tradition commands, which is equally as typical.

4.00Matteo our guide was fantastic in terms of his knowledge and expertise about Bolognia. However, I found our food stops could have provided much better examples of the "excellent" food Bolognia is known for. Take the tour, find you own food!

5.00Definitely recommend. Being in Bologna, the culinary capital of Italy, a local food tour was a must. We had a small group and it was great! There were 5 food tasting stops... street food, pasta, main dish, dessert and of course, coffee... plus additional stops to talk about other food products and history of and from the area. Our guide, Eugenio, was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Loved everything!

5.00We had an awesome experience. Our tour guide Ares did a fantastic job explaining all of the dishes. He also shared shopping and restaurant/bar recommendations while we walked from one location to another. We informed the tour operator in advance about vegetarians in our group and they made good arrangements. If you have not visited Bologna before, be prepared for lots of walking, narrow streets and large crowds.

5.00Darren was an amazing tour guide. He was able to weave in so much historical knowledge, into the tour. He was lovely, funny, personable and patient answering all my questions. The food spots were simply amazing! We enjoyed delicious food amazing wine, Gelato phenomenal and delectable coffee! We were also going to visit Florence the next day and Darren was not short of recommendations. This tour was easily the best bit about our time of Bologna. Darren we will see you next year! You definitely do not leave these tours hungry, we got to try a variety of classic bologna dishes and learned quite a bit of history about the city along the way. We felt the tour was worth the investment based on the quality and quantity offered.
