Fontana del Nettuno
The tour begins with a tasting of fresh handmade pasta, such as tagliatelle al ragù alla Bolognese, finished with locally produced Parmesan cheese. This iconic dish is one of Bologna’s most beloved culinary symbols. Lighter and more versatile than lasagna, it offers a perfect introduction to the city’s cuisine while leaving room for the tastings to come. Alternatively, you may be served traditional tortellini in broth, prepared according to time-honored local tradition and just as emblematic of Bologna’s gastronomic heritage.

We can't thank Valentina enough for making this food tour so much fun. We had a great time and the restaurants were excellent. The food was wonderful but her knowledge of Bologna was very enlightening. We learned a lot about the food and the city. We finished the tour with new friends and full stomaches.

We had a lovely few hours with Eugenio exploring the back streets of Bologna on our food tour. We learnt not only about the history of the key foods of the area but also of the city. Would highly recommend.

We did a fabulous private tour with Eugenio Marchetti. He was so knowledgeable and friendly. It really felt like we were walking the street of Bologna with a friend. He shared lots of great insight into both the food and history/culture of Bologna while equally interested in hearing our own experiences/comparisons with our home food cultures. He took us to great places and ordered all the food for us while explaining in detail their significance. It was more than enough food for a heavy lunch but we were not too full by the end. I highly recommend spending an afternoon with Engenio! We could not have asked for a better guide.

Kayleigh our guide was delightful. We had a wonderful few hours with her and our other guest from California, leaning about and sampling many of the foods that this area is famous for. Kayleigh's enthusiasm and knowledge shone through. Thoroughly recommended.

On Friday we took part in this tour that they gave us: it was chosen with "GUIDE IN ITALIAN" precisely because I personally do NOT speak English, while our guide Valentina specified that the tour was SOLD ONLY in English. At first I got upset but, out of respect for those who spent money on the gift, I decided to continue. Obviously I didn't understand anything, but Valentina was very good, nice and very professional. In the end I was fine and spent a quiet evening. But please do NOT sell what you cannot offer.

This was an excellent food tour. Quite the range of different food and drinks to try. Luca was an amazing guide, full of infomation about the city, the food, and some of the history of the area. We were a relatively small group and it felt like we were able to move all around the city centre, getting and excellent lay of the land! Luca was also full of many helpful suggestions of other places to try out in the following days!
