Garry was our host for this tour. He was extremely knowledgeable about the activities surrounding that historic event. In fact, he also wrote a book by the same name. We visited the affected areas as he told the story. He had photographs and other media to illustrate the story. We visited the military museum which was ok, not our favorite part. I appreciated that we also got to drive around Darwin and he pointed out the buildings, interesting facts and stories. Our only trip to Darwin so it was nice to see the town.

Gerry certainly knows a lot about Darwin’s history. His father was in the RAN during WW2 along with several of his uncles and he has written a book on the bombing which I bought and thoroughly enjoyed. For an interesting history of Darwin this is a must.

Having been on many Viator tours previously. This was by far the best. Garry’s knowledge, his ability to share detailed information, his good humour and story telling ability made it an experience to remember. Would highly recommend.

Garry was a great guide having a family connection with the events of 1942. Being an aviator I particularly liked going to the Aviation Museum.
