Pirate glass and pottery is common here. Marbles have been found here as well.
2. In the 1950's this was the area used for local household and commercial waste.
Typical finds here are; home decor pieces, textured window glass, pirate glass along with old bottle pieces.
***Please note - shells, corals and other organic items are protected as part of the marine park.
** Please note we only take guests to safe and accessible shorelines. We do not put your safety at risk by climbing cliffs or long swims.

Beach one - Explore Kralendijk's waterfront. Fisherman and their families still live in the area. In the past, Salt Company family homes lined part of this shore. Scour the shoreline for discarded glass which can date back to the 1700's. Frequently Pirate Glass and pottery are found here.

Beach Two - This area was a refuse dumping area which opened in the 1950's. Now a nice beach, we find all sorts of old household glass. Textured UV window glass, old glass decor pieces and of course colored bottle pieces.

Let me begin with this . I have hired Viator partners many times personally and through a group I travel with but on this occasion... the tour was absolutely not what was advertised. This Viator was terribly disappointing and canceled after 15 minutes from meeting the assigned leader. Starting with the fact that, when I arrived, Brenda, the guide I hired was not even on the island Bonaire, therefore all of my communications to Brenda went unanswered because, as I found out from Elsa, the person she hired to take over my tour, Brenda was on vacation in the United States. After several attempts, Brenda did not even bother to send any of my texts on to Elsa, the woman she assigned my tour to. Imagine my first surprise at finding out that Brenda was not my tour guide. After waiting over an hour, I finally connected with the alternate guide, Elsa, because she was holding a sign with my name on it, but I had already sent numerous unanswered text messages. Brenda had assigned it to this person, who was completely unprepared for the private snorkel tour I paid for. In discussing the day, Elsa said her instructions were to take me to walk the beaches that were a five minute distance from the cruise ship and to discuss the history of Bonaire. Not at all what was advertised as a private 3-4 hour tour. Even Elsa said it was very poorly communicated. My texts to Brenda went unanswered because I found out she was on vacation in the United States and Elsa had not heard from her. Elsa asked to at least show me the area she was told to take me and the cruise ship was visible and a 5-10 minute walk from the ship. I explained to Elsa about the snorkel and private tour I was expecting and was told that she did not have the snorkle equipment or capability to take me to the more secluded beaches or even to snorkel. As he was without snorkel equipment or a vehicle that would only drive local and well paved roads it was agreed to cancel the tour. It was tremendous disappointment having traveled thousands and thousands of miles to get here. Elsa was not given the correct info and had been terribly under informed. 15 minutes into the conversation and drive we both realized this was not a tour that she could accommodate and I would have to find someone else. Ultimately, I hired a different private tour guide, got to the beach that I wanted to search, but in the process lost 4 of the 8 hours of my port time with time only to go to one location and then race back to the ship by 3. Having done multiple tours with Viatour this was a very disappointing letdown. Please refund my payment in full and at this point I also feel I should be remunerated for the multiple hours of wasted vacation.

We had a fantastic time sea glassing with Brenda! She was early for our pick up and showed us amazing sea glass spots. Then she showed us some additional fun spots on the island to go to. We would recommend her without hesitation.

Our tour guide, Brenda, was as excited to search for seaglass as we were. She is quite knowledgeable about the "hunting" spots and also quite the hunter. When she found special pieces, she actually gave them to us. It was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend Brenda to anyone who loves the seaglass adventure and all it entails. Bring your water shoes. We hope to be a repeat customer.
