We visited Boone Hall Plantation. The grounds were beautiful and the 1935 home was stunning but the truly best were the visits to each of the 9 slave cabins, each with their own piece of the journey and history. The lecturers were wonderful… incredibly knowledgeable and spared nothing in discussing the history of the plantation and slavery there.

  • Absolutely Fantastic!

Beautiful plantation with incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff. An absolute must visit. A scavenger hunt with prize for the kids even kept my 6 year old engaged the whole time.

The plantation's history was educational. The gardens and oak tree canopy at the entrance offered a glimpse into the past. Boone Hall house and plantation provided insights into a challenging era in American history. I see why Boone Hall was chosen for the movies The Notebook and North and South due to its picturesque location and background.

  • A great look back.

The place is beautiful but the history is not pleasant to hear. Slavery is addressed head on with nothing held back. We learned so much and were awed by our ignorance and what was never taught in school.
