My wife and I LOVED this tour. It offered many different areas of the plantation to learn about and focus on. We enjoyed all the "vignette" talks given by the guides at the various locations on the plantation. There was so much to learn, so much we did not know, and so much that we thought we knew, but discovered that our preconceived thoughts were wrong. We spent a wonderful afternoon on Boone Farm and highly recommend this tour/event to anyone wanting to know more about this time in our history.

Great experience, every tour was great. Wish the stable one was longer but everything was amazing for the price. The Gullah Experience is a must.

The presenters were extremely knowledgeable about the long varied history of this site. We learned a lot and they didn’t shy away from the horrors of the enslaved who worked the plantation. Of special interest was the Gullah talk and the tour of the actual buildings that the enslaved lived in. The only disappointment was learning that the actual mansion was built in the 1930’s.

Enjoyed learning about the Gullah community. Interesting history of the land and both houses nuilt here. Learned about movies filmed on the property. House tour is only 2 rooms on the main level and no photos allowed. The tractor tour was okay but don't sit in the first row.... my face and eyeglasses were dirty from the dust. Ample parking. Purchase tickets in the building behind the brick one. Pick your house tour time and they will suggest or inform you of the times for the Gullah presentation.

We are so glad we decided to visit Boone Hall plantation on our way out of town! It was a beautiful property and a beautiful winter day. It felt like a great way to honor Martin Luther King Day… exploring some local history and listening to the songs and stories about slavery from one of the direct descendants of a family that worked on that plantation! She was magical, inspiring and humbling to listen to. The current owners have done a great job of restoring things, sharing the history and paying tribute to those who built and worked on the property. I learned a lot and really enjoyed our visit. Might have to come again when it’s warm. 😊🌸

So much history. The details of the plantation was fascinating. Must see. Bricks were made here and sold every where. With the bricks that were not made perfect the enslaves built their quarters.

It was a beautiful place, and it can all be seen within about four hours, but it's not spectacular. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and they all seem to appreciate our visit. Other than trying to keep the house tour short, I didn't see reason why they did not want visitors to take pictures of the inside of the house. It's not like anything would be harmed by it. However, the big disappointment was the price that Viator charged for tickets versus what Boone Hall Plantation charged. Viator charged $38 each for two senior adult tickets, while the official price of senior tickets at Boone Hall Plantation was $27 each. If I would have known this, I would not have purchased our tickets from Viator, as it's a bit of a rip-off.

My wife and I spent about 3 1/2 hours at Boone Hall and loved the experience. We started at the museum, toured the main house and gardens, took the tractor tour, did the self-guided tour of the salve quarters, and finished the day with the Gullah presentation. I wouldn't change a thing. The buildings are well-preserved. The history is well documented and interesting. And the tour guides are interesting and entertaining. It was a wonderful experience! We enjoyed learning more about the slave history, Gullah culture, and the history of Charleston.
