We don't believe in "cookie-cutter" experiences and neither should you! We provide the most personalized tours possible, meaning every tour we give is never the same. With the exception of a few must-try foods, the rest is built around YOU and what you're curious about tasting.
Groups are kept small and led by an incredibly knowledgeable guide. Did you know baguettes are some of the worst bread in France and you should be asking for something else? Did you know there are seasons for cheese? Would you like to have someone explain the regions of French wine? Our guides can do this because they are former chefs, food writers, and wine experts - not a student who has memorized a script.
You'll be strolling through Old Bordeaux, with its magnificent medieval architecture and cobblestone streets, sampling the best Bordeaux has to offer. We have selected only the highest quality shops to showcase and portion sizes are generous.

Our unique format: enjoy a grand finale + pairing at a wine cellar/shop the second half of the tour
Sampling the best shops in Bordeaux: an artisanal bakery, butcher, cheese, cannele, and wine shop
A personalized tour: every tour is different because it is based on the foods YOU are curious about
Grosse Cloche
The tour lasts approximately 3 hours and is divided into two parts. The first half has you visiting the best artisanal shops in the city - specifically an artisanal bakery, fromagerie, butcher and cannele pastry shop. You will sample a few items along the way but the main event happens during the second half of the tour. You will enjoy a seated wine, cheese and charcuterie pairing for a grand finale at a wine cellar/wine shop. As we are walking, we'll point out a few historical landmarks in Old Town Bordeaux from the Camino de Santiago to the Grosse Cloche - one of the most recognized monuments of Bordeaux.
Our standard tour starts at the Cinema Utopia and is about 1 km broken up over a leisurely hour and half, before the seated wine pairing. There are spots to sit and rest along the way and the distance can even be further reduced if there is someone on the tour who is elderly or mobility impaired.

I highly recommend taking this tour. Alexandra was our guide and she was very knowledgeable and fun. The food and wine were all high quality and tasted great. Her passion for the city, food and wine made this a 5 star experience. She also made a couple of stops along the way to educate us about the history of the city which was awesome. Because our tour became so small we were able to really customize all our tastings which was really cool. The stops she brought us to were so good we revisited 2 of them to purchase more and went 2 an additional recommendations which were also amazing. I would say do this right when you get to the city it you haven’t been before and it will provide you some places to eat and drink during the rest of your stay.

First off I must give thanks to Alexander. He was one of the best guides we have had. Why? My wife only speaks Spanish and he was extremely patient and even explained things in Spanish for her. I told him I really liked Gothic architecture so he took us off script to a Gothic style church to see. Incredible experience with him. All of the cheeses, meats, bread, and wine was delicious. If you are going to Bourdeaux don’t hesitate to make this booking.

Perfect introduction to Bordeaux and French wine and food with a knowledgeable guide and sommelier. Alexandra led us around town at a leisurely pace and took her time explaining the history of all the places we shopped for our food tasting and was very patient with our questions. Her excellent command of English made it easy for us to understand her at all times and added to our enjoyment of the tour. Later at the wine shop , Tom gave us an impressive and thorough presentation on the various wine appellations surrounding Bordeaux in a way that even those of us that were not well versed in the French wine industry could understand and learn from. All in all, Alexandra and Tom make the perfect team to introduce one to the food and wines of the Bordeaux region.

Alexandre was full of knowledge about a various different items. Brought the city to life for me. Varied selection of food and wine. He tried to take into account my personal likes/dislikes. Gave me food for thought literally. Background support by the company involved truly excellent

Alexandre’s tour was fantastic. He managed to create a great mix of historical and cultural experience out of an informal culinary. I wish we had more time to take other tours with him.

We had a great morning with Alexandra for the Bordeaux in Bites tour. There were three generations of men from our family on the tour (aged 20-85), so quite a mixed bunch, but we all learned, ate, and drank very well. Thanks also to Tom for sharing his knowledge and passion for wine. I'd thoroughly recommend.

Alex was a great guide sharing with us the history or Bordeaux and the great food and wine. Visiting all of the shops and learning about the making of the food and the criteria to call it certain names was very enlightening. Alex also catered well for my gluten free needs.

You hear about the history of.Bordeaux and the wonderful food they have to offer. It was great to visit the shops and taste the food. Hearing about the criteria that it takes to call certain food a name was very interesting. They cater foelr.your tastes and dietary needs.
