We don't believe in "cookie-cutter" experiences and neither should you! We provide the most personalized tours possible, meaning every tour we give is never the same. With the exception of a few must-try foods, the rest is built around YOU and what you're curious about tasting.
Groups are kept small and led by an incredibly knowledgeable guide. Did you know baguettes are some of the worst bread in France and you should be asking for something else? Did you know there are seasons for cheese? Would you like to have someone explain the regions of French wine? Our guides can do this because they are former chefs, food writers, and wine experts - not a student who has memorized a script.
You'll be strolling through Old Bordeaux, with its magnificent medieval architecture and cobblestone streets, sampling the best Bordeaux has to offer. We have selected only the highest quality shops to showcase and portion sizes are generous.

Grosse Cloche
The tour lasts approximately 3 hours and is divided into two parts. The first half has you visiting the best artisanal shops in the city - specifically an artisanal bakery, fromagerie, butcher and cannele pastry shop. You will sample a few items along the way but the main event happens during the second half of the tour. You will enjoy a seated wine, cheese and charcuterie pairing for a blowout finish at a wine cellar/wine shop. As we are walking, we'll point out a few historical landmarks in Old Town Bordeaux from the Camino de Santiago to the Grosse Cloche - one of the most recognized monuments of Bordeaux.
Our standard tour starts at the Cinema Utopia and is about 1 km broken up over a leisurely hour and half, before the seated wine pairing. There are spots to sit and rest along the way and the distance can even be further reduced if there is someone on the tour who is elderly or mobility impaired.

Excellent tour. Alexandra was great and very knowledgeable about the history of Bordeaux. She was also helpful in helping to select items for the wine pairing at the end. And Jean Jacques of Cave de la Rousselle matched the wines perfectly and clearly explained about all the Regions and Appellations.

Alexandra led an amazing food tour of Old Town both from a historic and food perspective. She took us to wonderful small purveyors - cheese, pastries, boulange, charcutterie - which was collected and then enjoyed at our final stop, a jewel of a wine shop, Cave de la Rouselle. There we enjoyed an extended tasting, led by the very knowledgeable Manger Tom as we snacked on the various delicacies we had collected. It was a fun-filled 3 hours and a perfect launch for our 4 days in Bordeaux.

Alex was one of the best we’ve ever had. The stops, his knowledge, the variety of cheeses, meats and breads was outstanding. Perfect balance between walking and sitting to enjoy the treats and wines. We rate this tour A+. Thank you, Alex!
