House of Terror Museum
House of Terror is a museum located at Andrássy út 60 in Budapest, Hungary. It contains exhibits related to the fascist and communist regimes in 20th-century Hungary and is also a memorial to the victims of these regimes, including those detained, interrogated, tortured or killed in the building.

5.00I did this as a private tour. I was pleasantly surprised that the price for taking it privately was not ridiculously higher than if I joined an existing group as a single person. The tour was fascinating. Ferenc, the guide, was knowledgeable and really open to answering my questions and discussing the complex political issues that are raised through a tour like this. He also enriched the tour by giving me multiple perspectives on the issues, sometimes the perspectives of the different generations of his own family. The tour operator is a great little company that offers a highly personalised level of service. I booked four of their tours while I was in Budapest and was very glad I chose this company

5.00Booked this tour for myself and my husband. It ended up just the two of us with the lovely Ferenc. We had a lovely walk around various areas of Budapest and learned a lot more around the history and political landscape of Hungary. Truly made our weekend break.

5.00We booked Born Under The Red Star with Viator. Our Hungarian local guide was very professional and extremely knowledgeable. It was a 3 hr tour and there’s a bit of walking involved but she kept us interested the entire time. We learned quite a bit about history of Budapest/Hungary. Our tour guide took us to retro bar for drinks midway and showed us restaurants with authentic Hungarian food. We highly recommend this tour for those interested in history!!!

5.00Anita our guide arrived on time to start our Born Under the Red Star Tour. Anita was extremely engaging and personable. Armed with some picture reference books we were thoroughly engaged. We saw and learnt so much in those 3 hours with Anita’s expert knowledge. Travelling on the old metro train, coffee at a traditional Budapest cafe, discovering old Communist buildings and enjoying another drink later on at the retro Trabant Lounge- which was great fun. It was a great tour, well paced for weary legs and very interesting. Great job Anita !
