What To Expect

At Bozeman Brewing Co., you'll head into the taproom with Rich to enjoy your own flight of four 4-oz. beers of your choosing (or let Rich curate the flight for you). Plus, Rich will teach you tasting tips and tips for how to decode a beer menu.

Mountains Walking Brewery

Next, we'll walk one block (about 2 minutes) to Mountains Walking Brewery. At Mountains Walking, first, Rich will lead you into the brewery (where he used to work), to see the brewing tanks, sample barley malts and hops, and learn more about beer ingredients and brewing processes. Then, you'll grab a seat in the taproom with Rich to have your own flight of four 4-oz. beers of your choosing (or let Rich recommend beers based on your tastes). Plus, you'll enjoy a hot appetizer from the Mountains Walking kitchen!

Rich was so well versed in his craft, it's mind blowing. I will be 100% honest and say that I'm very much a water & tea kinda gal, rarely a drinker. However, I wanted to try something new for my birthday and I booked this tour. The choice of beers & the way his spreadsheet explained everything was enlightening. We went with the flights with 4 beers each and sipped/shared our choices. Rich just took everything to another level. Both breweries were great in their own right, but my own personal favorite was the Walking Mountain Brewery. I'd also like to say that they hands down have the best pizza I've ever had. Seriously why would any locals get pizza from anywhere else? I can't necessarily recommend individual beers only because everyone's palate is different. My own favorites were the Fiesta at Bozeman Brewery & the Pineapple-aru (spelling?) at Walking Mountain. Anyway, go on the tour, you won't regret it!!

Fantastic experience and really great learning opportunity for someone who has always enjoyed local beers but never got to learn about the background behind it all. The activity included a behind the scenes tour of the brewery itself. Rich is an extremely knowledgeable and nice person. He really knows his stuff!

The beer tour is of two places in Bozeman. They were both awesome. Our guide, Rich, provided a list of beers with information about each, which was very helpful in deciding which ones to try. Well worth it for the cost. If you like to linger over beer, you'll have to drink a bit quicker at the first place as the tour is only 90s minutes. Luckily you can always go back and you can hang out at the final brewery as long as you want.

Must do experience if you love beer! Rich is the most knowledgeable beer expert I’ve ever met and hosts a fun and educational tour with great beer options at Bozeman's two best breweries! I would rate the tour infinity if it were on the IBU scale (if you don’t know what this means do the brewery hop with Rich!)

Was so fun to learn more about the history and science behind beer. Rich is great! Definitely a must for a quick outing and learn more about craft beers. If you have any questions he’s like an encyclopedia, full of knowledge and passion. Been in the industry for 10 years and it’s was very engaging.
