• Go for cake, skip the tasting

  The tasting included six generous slices of cake (three distinct types, two slices of each). The portions were large, and we were unable to finish them all. However, the "experience" component felt lacking. We received only a simple information card and a brief verbal explanation from the staff, which lasted less than a minute. ​While we appreciated the attempt to introduce the traditional cakes, the lack of depth or engagement in the explanation made the high cost feel unjustified. The cakes themselves were unfortunately mediocre in quality and simply weren't to our personal liking. ​Considering the minimal service provided for the €14 per person price point, combined with the fact that the generous portions still resulted in waste because we didn't enjoy the flavors, we found the value proposition to be extremely poor. In hindsight, we strongly recommend that other visitors skip the formal tasting or get one tasting to share. You would likely be better off just going directly into the shop and purchasing cake slices from the counter to sample or share. This approach offers better choice, better value, and more control over your experience

  I was expecting to learn about these local cakes and perhaps have the baker explain the tradition of these cakes. We just received the cakes and that was it. Do not get me wrong they were delicious cakes and the staff were helpful and kind. It just didn’t seem like they knew we were coming. We took a few bites and left.

  Cake tasting experience is probably an inaccurate description of the event. Yes you get to taste 3 cakes in the old town of Bratislava, however, we were given 3 slices of cakes of which 2 were not shown on the experience. We had a card left on the table with some information regarding each cake. The cakes were not particularly fresh and we both felt it was a waste of money and time. In all honesty in my opinion we would have been better finding a traditional cake shop of which there are many and buying a few slices of various cakes and having our own cake tasting. There is a beautiful immersive cake shop close by which would have been a far better experience. There was no experience and the freshness of the cakes was below par.

  I missed my original tasting date, they we’re flexible with me. I changed date and showed up and the one attendant that was there was super busy, I asked her to box up the selections. She did not feel comfortable with English so she gave me something to read regarding the history of the cakes. It was not what I had hope for but the cakes were really good.

  We loved the fancy treats here. We've been back for more since! The portions are large, so we took a long time to finish, but we felt completely relaxed and chilled out during the tasting. (O, en español si lo prefiere!)

  Our River Cruise only had a half day stop in Bratislava, and this was our favorite activity! We truly enjoyed this wonderful little cafe sitting outside just off the main square. We arrived earlier than our reservation but was told this was not a problem and were welcomed and treated to delicious cakes. The young lady who waited on us was very friendly and answered our questions about living in the area and gave us a really warm feeling for the people in this city. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who is stopping in the area.
