  We took a great class with Maryam today. Not only was the bread we made delicious, (especially the Msemen, which is a real treat) but Maryam is a great instructor. She is patient and kind and makes the class an experience that shouldn’t be missed. We highly recommend it!

  Miriam’s workshop is a delightful way to spend a couple hours at the end of the afternoon. She teaches you how to make Msemen (Moroccan pancakes) and a traditional flatbread. Miriam is very kind and patient and the class is paced well. At the end of the class you enjoy the efforts of your labour with Moroccan tea and great conversation. Would recommend this experience!

  A wonderful moment spent with Maryam during this batbout and msemen workshop. Maryam is an extraordinary person, passionate, caring, and very clear in her explanations. Everything was perfect: the welcome, the kindness, the patience, the sharing of culture, and the exchanges throughout the workshop. We learned a lot in a warm and authentic atmosphere.   Wow, what an incredible experience! Miriam was a welcoming, friendly host who spoke with knowledge about the bread, ingredients, techniques and Moroccan culture. After having a go at making our own msemen and bread, we then sat down to eat it with some traditional Moroccan tea. Miriam was so interesting - we chatted about our cultures, politics and (of course) - the shared language of football! Would highly recommend this great experience. An experience we will never forget! Thank you Miriam!

  Such a wonderful experience! Miryam is a lovely person and a fantastic, patient teacher. You will learn about more than just baking, but about the significance of the dishes you are making within Moroccan culture and leave with recipes to recreate at home.   Absolutely wonderful traditional Riad style building to cook in with high ceilings, light openings and beautiful natural light pouring in. The workshop was spacious and a great traditional Moroccan cooking facility. We had a phenomenal experience with host Miriam at the Dima Workshop! We enjoyed our time making two different types of breads the traditional Moroccan Bread & the delicious Msemen Moroccan pancake/ bread. The workshop was truly outstanding we were captivated by the culinary experience that seemed to indulge the five senses throughout. So many different tastings of spices, teas…we were totally spoilt with a variety choice of flours to use. We each made our individual personalised bread by selecting the flours we desired, completely to our choosing. Whilst we all made our own bread we it still felt like a team spirit and effort since all worked together at the same pace with Miriam walking round and supporting us. Our two children (both autistic) were completely focused and engaged throughout the workshop and Miriam was encouraging and supportive of their progress throughout. We all left elated and we are hoping to return for further workshops when we are back in Essaouira again! Thank you to Miriam and her lovely assistant for offering our family such a wonderful experience

  We saved this activity for our final full day in Essaouira, truly saving the best for last. Maryam met us just outside, welcomed us in, and from that moment on, the conversation simply flowed. She shared her family tradition of baking different types of bread, patiently giving us clear, hands on instructions. Meanwhile, we discussed everything from education to culture to music to religious traditions, and by the time we left, we felt we had known her for a long time. She had a quick wit and humor that resonated well with our teenage kids, who were about the same age as her own. When we asked our teenagers what their highlight of our Moroccan trip was, all three of them agreed that breadmaking with Maryam was their favorite! Do not pass up this opportunity- it was genuine and meaningful- not to mention delicious- for us all.

  Fantastic!! I attended this workshop and loved every minute of it. Miriam's knowledge doesn't stop at bread and tea making, but she readily and generously shared tips on Moroccan culture and traditions. She answered the many questions I had patiently and kindly. The course takes places in a lovely clean space and I couldn't have asked for anything better. Great afternoon. I would highly recommend it
