Select a pickup point
Your tour begins with pickup from your Hobart hotel and a scenic drive to the pretty coastal town of Kettering, where you will catch your Bruny Island ferry. Enjoy the 15-minute cruise on the D’Entrecasteaux Channel over to Bruny Island, then travel by air-conditioned minivan to the narrow spit called The Neck connecting the north and south parts of the island, passing oyster farms and grazing properties en route. Your island tour begins with views from Adventure Bay lookout and the Hummock lookout, a significant indigenous site that's home to Truganini Memorial. Continue to Adventure Bay where your guide will prepare a picnic style morning tea of warm wood fired breads, award winning cheeses and juicy fresh oysters. Your tour continues over the Mount Mangana Trail and through ancient rainforests with Tree Ferns standing 16-foot (5 meters) high and, keeping an eye out for echidnas, wallabies, wildflowers and the island's unique birdlife. Make your way to Cape Bruny Lighthouse in the South Bruny National Park for your exclusive group lighthouse tour. The lighthouse is Australia's last vantage point to spot migrating humpback and southern right whales, and an important navigational landmark for ships at sea. The coastal views are among the best in Tasmania with rugged dolerite coastlines looming eerily over the Tasman Sea. Feeling hungry by now, stop at Bruny Island Hotel for a wonderful lunch featuring regional foods such as a delicious Seafood Chowder with locally caught fish, seafood platters, beef, chicken, vegan and vegetarian options and the popular slow cooked shoulder of lamb. You complete the day with your round-trip ferry to Kettering before returning to Hobart.

Went on an all inclusive Bruny Island day drip from.Hobart with Bruny Island Safari Tours. Our driver and tour guide, Jimmy, was awesome. Very friendly, respectful, and informative. We had the absolute best day exploring beautiful Bruny Island, with the best stop overs for morning tea, fresh bread and cheese, and freshly shucked oysters, scenic views, honey tasting, lighthouse visit, an amazing lunch, chocolate tasting, more cheese sampling - then heading back to Hobart. An absolutely beautiful day. Thanks again Jimmy. We will definitely come back with family and friends!!

Writing at the end of a glorious day on Bruny. The weather was perfect for a journey—dropping into food artisan shops and restaurants, and visiting beaches, a remarkable gem of a lighthouse, and driving through beautiful rainforest. Even the ferry ride over was lovely. Could not have been better. Highlights for me were touring the historic lighthouse and learning its history and eating exquisite oysters and cheese on a nearly-deserted sandy beach. Jimmy, our tour guide, was knowledgeable, entertaining, organized, and kind. Our small group benefited so much from his careful attention to the kind of details that matter on this kind of tour. I recommend you go!

I would highly recommend this tour. It was the highlight of our 5 day trip to Hobart. Jimmy, our guide was excellent - very knowledgeable, considerate and friendly. The food we had on the island was delicious and the lighthouse tour was a highlight. We enjoyed the places we dropped into - my personal favourite was the bread fridge! What a true Aussie experience. Thanks for a memorable day.

Great day trip. Well-organized with different stops that provided diverse experiences enabled by keeping the tour moving along at a good pace while never seeming rushed. Bruny island is beautiful with an interesting history the guide Dave brought to life with his narratives and amusing dad jokes.

We did this tour as this was the only company that did the light house tour. The whole tour was great. Some things are out of the guides control-like how long you have to wait for the ferry- but it's not too long. The crossing was smooth and once the ferry is moving you are free to get out of the car and go up to the inside or outside observation areas. We had extensive tasting of chocolate, honey and cheese. We stopped for morning tea at an area with a picnic table, we had a walk and look around during the setting up and the selection of cheeses was explained to us. Fresh oysters that we picked up minutes before were also seved. We stopped at Truganini?Lookout and walked up the stairs for a great view. Jimmy was our guide and he was exceptional. Lots of knowledge to share with us all. The day was packed but it was still a nice pace.
