Your tour begins with pickup from your Hobart hotel and a scenic drive to the pretty coastal town of Kettering, where you will catch your Bruny Island ferry. Enjoy the 15-minute cruise on the D’Entrecasteaux Channel over to Bruny Island, then travel by air-conditioned minivan to the narrow spit called The Neck connecting the north and south parts of the island, passing oyster farms and grazing properties en route. Your island tour begins with views from Adventure Bay lookout and the Hummock lookout, a significant indigenous site that's home to Truganini Memorial. Continue to Adventure Bay where your guide will prepare a picnic style morning tea of warm wood fired breads, award winning cheeses and juicy fresh oysters. Your tour continues over the Mount Mangana Trail and through ancient rainforests with Tree Ferns standing 16-foot (5 meters) high and, keeping an eye out for echidnas, wallabies, wildflowers and the island's unique birdlife. Make your way to Cape Bruny Lighthouse in the South Bruny National Park for your exclusive group lighthouse tour. The lighthouse is Australia's last vantage point to spot migrating humpback and southern right whales, and an important navigational landmark for ships at sea. The coastal views are among the best in Tasmania with rugged dolerite coastlines looming eerily over the Tasman Sea. Feeling hungry by now, stop at Bruny Island Hotel for a wonderful lunch featuring regional foods such as a delicious Seafood Chowder with locally caught fish, seafood platters, beef, chicken, vegan and vegetarian options and the popular slow cooked shoulder of lamb. You complete the day with your round-trip ferry to Kettering before returning to Hobart.

Our beautiful day trip to Bruny Island started with the rain. It was 11 of us and we were all a bit sad that we couldn’t enjoy the island with a good weather, but … we soon realized that we were luckier than we thought. First of all, our guide Jimmy was absolutely incredible. Fun, interesting, knowledgeable. We spent the morning laughing and exploring the island looking for white wallabies and, because of the weather, we saw a lot! So beautiful. Even a couple with their joeys ❤️. After a beautiful lunch the sun came out and Bruny Island’s colors took our breaths away. I would recommend this experience 100%

Like most tours in Australia, this one started early - I was picked up at 7 am, not far from my hotel - but it was worth it. We were driven in a minibus onto the ferry at Kettering and covered a good portion of the island. The highlights were: 1. The Truganini Lookout at the Neck, the isthmus connecting North Bruny to South Bruny. The lookout gives spectacular views of both sides of the isthmus, and the sea levels are different. 2. Cape Bruny Lighthouse. I chose this tour because it went here and I wanted to go further south than I'd ever been in the world; but the cape and the lighthouse are well worth visiting in their own right. A guide took us up the lighthouse and we were able to go out on top with no difficulty, giving us great views of the cape coast. We were also taken to a number of local businesses and given several tastings of local food, including oysters, honey and chocolate - all delicious. A tasty light lunch at a local restaurant was also included. Our guide, Marina, was interesting and helpful and always happy to take pictures of me (with both my cameras). An enjoyable day out, which I'd strongly recommend.

We had a fabulous day at Bruny Island on the Bruny Island Safari Tour. Our driver and guide, Dave, was excellent! He gave an extremely thorough, interesting, and cheerful commentary over the entire day. He was very knowledgeable about the Island and the whole of the area travelled. We had plenty of time at each attraction he took us to and even though he didn't pressure us in any way, he still made sure the day ran smoothly and we were on time and able to see all the attractions he had promised us. We spoke to others since we returned yesterday and they did not see a lot of the things we were able to experience with Dave. He was punctual, professional, experienced, easy to talk to and a safe driver. We would thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone.

Our tour of Bruny Island exceeded our expectations. Our guide Jimmy was a great host, very knowledgeable and kept us entertained with his insights and humour. It would be hard to find anyone who knows more about the island than Jimmy. The sights were interesting and the food stops and lunch were great and with educational tastings. In summary a great day and highly recommended.

Jimmy was a teacher in a previous life. This means that a full day with him is fun and informative. The food was incredibly fresh and varied. This would be a high light of any vacation.
