What To Expect
Your tour begins with pickup from your Hobart hotel and a scenic drive to the pretty coastal town of Kettering, where you will catch your Bruny Island ferry. Enjoy the 15-minute cruise on the D’Entrecasteaux Channel over to Bruny Island, then travel by air-conditioned minivan to the narrow spit called The Neck connecting the north and south parts of the island, passing oyster farms and grazing properties en route. Your island tour begins with views from Adventure Bay lookout and the Hummock lookout, a significant indigenous site that's home to Truganini Memorial. Continue to Adventure Bay where your guide will prepare a picnic style morning tea of warm wood fired breads, award winning cheeses and juicy fresh oysters. Your tour continues over the Mount Mangana Trail and through ancient rainforests with Tree Ferns standing 16-foot (5 meters) high and, keeping an eye out for echidnas, wallabies, wildflowers and the island's unique birdlife. Make your way to Cape Bruny Lighthouse in the South Bruny National Park for your exclusive group lighthouse tour. The lighthouse is Australia's last vantage point to spot migrating humpback and southern right whales, and an important navigational landmark for ships at sea. The coastal views are among the best in Tasmania with rugged dolerite coastlines looming eerily over the Tasman Sea. Feeling hungry by now, stop at Bruny Island Hotel for a wonderful lunch featuring regional foods such as a delicious Seafood Chowder with locally caught fish, seafood platters, beef, chicken, vegan and vegetarian options and the popular slow cooked shoulder of lamb. The afternoon is all about nature and more food, with stops at Get Shucked for fresh oysters, Bruny Island Fudge Chocolate Shop, Bruny Island Honey Shed and Bruny Island Cheese Company to taste delicious artisan cheeses and see how it is made. You complete the day with your round-trip ferry to Kettering before returning to Hobart.

5.00Great day trip. Our tour guide Dave was fun, entertaining and very knowledgeable. We saw white kangaroos, an echidna, all the beautiful scenery, as well as sampled many tasty Bruny Island produce. We’d definitely recommend this tour.

5.00What a wonderful day! We were greeted warmly by our guide Andy and his pleasant manner throughout the day made it a special one. The food (oysters, cheese, chocolates and honey), wildlife sightings and the Lighthouse Tour were all wonderful experiences. The day progressed at a good pace and there was time to connect with others from the tour group. Overall, one of the best days we have had in Tasmania. Would highly recommend this tour! Thanks Andy 👍
Poor Van Sound System

4.00The van’s sound system was not functioning. This inconvenience was made severe because there was a group of 6 passengers of which only one or two spoke English. As such, they translated everything the guide talked about in their native language. When I asked how the remaining 5 passengers were supposed to hear and understood what he was talking about, he apologized, but said the sound system had been damaged by a company employee who was trying to fix. He didn’t know when the system would be repaired or replaced. So, for approximately 10 hours we strained to hear what the guide was talking about. In the end, it put a real “ DAMPER “ on the tour. You expect a functioning van for the price of the tour, approximately $200 Australian dollars!

5.00This trip was excellent We had an amazing time and our guide Nigel was very knowledgeable. We had a cute little picnic on the beach followed by an exclusive private tour of the lighthouse. Then a hearty lunch. We ate local oysters and cheeses. We finished on a sweet note and enjoyed a chocolate tasting. I highly recommend this tour it was fantastic.

5.00It was a great day out and the tour took us to many beautiful places around Bruny Island. It was stunning. The tour guide Dave was knowledgeable and keep the bus ride fun. The food was also great especially the oyster (so fresh and so yummy) and lunch was great. Highly recommended this tour to everyone who want to enjoys a great day out and to see the stunning scenery around Bruny Island.
