Your tour begins with pickup from your Hobart hotel and a scenic drive to the pretty coastal town of Kettering, where you will catch your Bruny Island ferry. Enjoy the 15-minute cruise on the D’Entrecasteaux Channel over to Bruny Island, then travel by air-conditioned minivan to the narrow spit called The Neck connecting the north and south parts of the island, passing oyster farms and grazing properties en route. Your island tour begins with views from Adventure Bay lookout and the Hummock lookout, a significant indigenous site that's home to Truganini Memorial. Continue to Adventure Bay where your guide will prepare a picnic style morning tea of warm wood fired breads, award winning cheeses and juicy fresh oysters. Your tour continues over the Mount Mangana Trail and through ancient rainforests with Tree Ferns standing 16-foot (5 meters) high and, keeping an eye out for echidnas, wallabies, wildflowers and the island's unique birdlife. Make your way to Cape Bruny Lighthouse in the South Bruny National Park for your exclusive group lighthouse tour. The lighthouse is Australia's last vantage point to spot migrating humpback and southern right whales, and an important navigational landmark for ships at sea. The coastal views are among the best in Tasmania with rugged dolerite coastlines looming eerily over the Tasman Sea. Feeling hungry by now, stop at Bruny Island Hotel for a wonderful lunch featuring regional foods such as a delicious Seafood Chowder with locally caught fish, seafood platters, beef, chicken, vegan and vegetarian options and the popular slow cooked shoulder of lamb. The afternoon is all about nature and more food, with stops at Get Shucked for fresh oysters, Bruny Island Fudge Chocolate Shop, Bruny Island Honey Shed and Bruny Island Cheese Company to taste delicious artisan cheeses and see how it is made. We had a wonderful day with Dave as our guide. So much information throughout the tour. An amazing picnic morning tea with beautiful beaches. Lighthouse was amazing and Lunch was great. Thankyou so much for such a great day. Definitely wear comfy shoes and bring water. We were so lucky with the weather but I’d bring a jumper just in case. Thanks Dave. Great day. Please laugh at Dave’s jokes. He needs that

Amazing 10-hour day with a focus on food, nature, and country. Andy was a great guide and the group was small. Ferry trip was short but a highlight. So much food included in the price I don’t think I’ll eat for a week!

This is a well coordinated tour of many wonderful tasting stops along with the light house tour. If you have the time for a Bruny Island tour, I recommend this one.

Nigel was a wonderful guide. He is very friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and professional. The outing was interesting and Bruny is beautiful. Highlights of the day included a very nice picnic on Adventure Bay beach (with awesome oysters) and a terrific lighthouse tour. Another thing one should understand that this tour is not particularly active. Much of the time is spent observing from the coach or spending time at point of interest stops. This may be perfect for some!

We had such a vibeful and memorable trip with Bruny Island Safaris. Our guide Dav was absolutely fantastic—nice, funny, and super entertaining. He truly gave his 100% to show us around and made the whole day special. All arrangements from tasting cheese and honey, having oysters, lunch time, going to chocolate factory were well planned and enjoyable. What I loved most was that it never felt like a typical tourist tour—it genuinely felt like I was seeing the island with a friend rather than a tour guide. I absolutely loved the trip and would highly recommend Bruny Island Safaris to anyone visiting Tasmania! Lots of love to you dav 🥰🥰 you are legend

The best tour highlighting a feast of nature, history and coastal beauty. It was also amazing to visit the second oldest lighthouse in Australia! Very well organised and informative tour from our funny & friendly tour guide, Nigel. I had two seniors with me and we all loved it! Thank you Nigel for dropping us back in our hotel!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Had an awesome day on the Bruny Island Food, Sightseeing & Lighthouse Tour and I couldn’t recommend it enough. The food was a massive highlight. Everything was fresh and local, and honestly you’re well fed by the end of the day so dont bother booking dinner for after. Lunch was great and i would reccomend the lamb shoulder. The oysters, cheese, fudge and other local stops were all spot on. Big shoutout to our guide Jimmy, hes an absolute legend. Super friendly, easy going and clearly knows and loves Bruny Island. He kept the day running smoothly, shared heaps of local knowledge and made the whole experience relaxed and fun rather than feeling like a typical tour. The scenery was stunning, the lighthouse was a great stop and we even spotted a white wallaby which was a pretty special bonus. If you’re heading to Tasmania put this tour high on your to do list. Great food, great guide and a brilliant way to see Bruny Island.
