We booked this tour a month in advance. We arrived at the pick up point at 8:30am following the instructions I had received the day prior via the Trip Advisor app that the tour operator had sent in a message only to find out they canceled the tour. I had to call the tour operator to figure that out after waiting for a bus that never came and after they charged my card. I get that tours cancel for all sorts of reasons but to not contact the customers beforehand so they can make other plans for an entire day of a vacation is unacceptable. I did get a refund. Also, when I called this went to a phone number in Amsterdam so I don't think this is even a local tour company to Brussels which is another red flag.

Love viator, but if this was my first tour it would have been my last. Our guide was hard to find at the meeting points from start to finish., and not very informative. People on the bus were told to move from their seats twice by other passengers, because of their ethnicity. Which she saw and did nothing about. These are not reserved seat and that should NEVER had happened .

Ugo our guide was a lovely guy and knowledgeable. Everything took twice as long though as although this was billed as an English speaking trip it was also Italian as well so he had to say everything twice. The itinerary was not held too, mine said a trip to a brewery when we returned to Brussels and and we did not go to that. Both cities were lovely to visit. The only improvement Ugo could offer would be to point out nice photo opportunities and give the group time to take them before walking off as we had a choice to listen to the information he was giving or break off to take a photo and miss what he was saying. Bruges in particular is so pretty with lovely shops to visit. I would skip the cruise in ghent unless you are a tiny person. The boats are very narrow and leg room is half the size of an economy plane seat area so really uncomfortable. They squash a lot of people on the boat so nowhere to put your legs except under your chin. very interesting mini cruise but not worth the pain in my legs for the rest of the day. I would recommend Ugo as a guide and both Bruges and Ghent were interesting.

We took a day trip from Brussels to Ghent and Bruges, and our guide was a lovely gentleman from Venezuela. His English was good and was able to converse in other languages as well. He kept the tour light and easy and the group in control. The length of the trip is just nice (we had another event to attend that evening so we couldn't afford to be late in returning to Brussels), but I did wish that we got a bit more free time in Bruges to visit the Church of our Lady of Bruges and the Saint John Hospital museum.

Guide (Edwin) was very engaging and knowledgeable, recommended "Cookies" to us as a nice little out of the way place to grab a glass of authentic Belgian beer. That single recommendation was the highlight of our entire trip to Belgium. This is a "newer" guide company (self admitted by guide) and they are still finding their legs. The day was a little rushed and one of the guides called in sick heaping a ton of work on our guide (not the company's fault, of course). I would still highly recommend this tour but wear comfortable shoes. We clocked 6 miles of walking total. And the tour was 60%+ in Spanish (again, not our guides fault).

Very interesting although we could not see the chocolate factory demonstration. The trip was English, Italian and Spanish. The guide Matthew was especially attentive with us who were the only Spaniards and the driver back showed us the illuminated Atomium.

The tour itself was good. We had terrible weather the day we went which made the walking part of the tour in each city (over 6 miles combined for the whole day) challenging. The guide, Matteo, was enthusiastic and helpful. Some of the other people on the tour were rude which with the weather, didn’t help the experience.

Great city, horrible tour organization and communication. There was no bus or bus driver. It took them an hour and a half to find one. We signed up for an English tour but also that had to listen to the same Tour in Italian and Spanish, which took away time from us moving to the next stop and then free time in the city and markets. The tour guides were nice people, but did not know how to communicate to keep the group together, communicate meeting points well, or keep track of time. They would take off walking so quickly many people on the tour could not keep up and would fall very very behind, and they would not slow down to find the people throughout the entire walking tour. We had six people get lost on the way back to the bus and we had to wait while they went back to find them. we ended up getting back two hours later than scheduled. The city and Christmas markets were absolutely stunning. So many people on the tour were upset, but everyone was making the best of the bad situation. The tour guides were nice and very apologetic, but in the end if they would have communicated properly, a lot of wasted of time could have been avoided. So basically a 10 hour tour turned into a little over 12 hours and because we had to listen to the same thing and two other languages, a lot of information was lost in translation and looking for people all a waste of time. If a tour is going to be told in three languages that needs to be stated upfront, they combined the tours into one, apparently. IIt is very deceptive to buy an English tour and also have to listen to two other languages wasting time. Very disappointing. But the city and Christmas markets were nice.

Lots of walking. The architecture and history of the towns was awesome but then I’m into that sort of stuff. Bus ride was tedious but comfortable. The tour guide was very friendly and helpful but had a strong accent. English is my wife’s second language so she had difficulty understanding him. The chocolatier was informative. The boat tour was short and overall disappointing and the boat guide was not as funny as he thought he was. There could have been more time to souvenir shop in Ghent but overall we enjoyed it.

Bruges and Ghent are beautiful cities to visit however the free time in each place was not enough. Also the guide adds so much to the experience. Unfortunately David our guide didn’t achieve this. We signed up for an English guided tour, not bilingual. Because of this everything felt so rushed and he looked annoyed most of the time.
