Budapest, 16th century. A young man in a turban and harem pants materializes before you, a time traveler whose memory was wiped by the journey. He remembers serving a mysterious master but cannot remember who he is. You agree to help him piece together his identity from clues left behind in the city.
This self-guided city game uses the Questo app to lead you through 14 chapters across 5.25 km of Budapest. Start at the Buda Castle walls, play at your own pace, and follow an Ottoman time traveler from the castle to the river to Rose Hill. No guide or fixed schedule: just you and a mystery to unravel.
Your journey takes you through the Castle District's Turkish cemetery, the Labyrinth beneath the castle, the oldest café in Budapest (1698), the ruins of a medieval church, the Pasha's tomb, the Király Baths, and the mausoleum of Islamic saint Gül Baba on Rose Hill.
Ideal for history lovers, couples, and families. Note: the full route covers 5.25 km and takes just under 2 hours.

We were looking forward to this experience but it didn't end up working very well. Unfortunately after passing the first clue, we then found that all the building work that is taking place around the castle restricted the clues and we were unable to see them. We could not go to the areas it was suggesting - however I'm sure when the building work is complete this would all make sense again. We stopped doing this and just walked around instead.

Great quest. Interesting places, good story. Fascinatingly. You will visit some places that you would most likely miss without this game. Recommend.

The game is very interesting and we really enjoyed the experience and competition:) The only thing: it took 2.5 hours even with using a few hints, and it wasn't 3 km. It wasn't a problem but take this to the account.

The game is very fun and also u learn history while playing, which makes it even better. On the way u might find hidden gems, which u can check out, if u not going for fast completion time, u might enjoy sometimes taking off the road the game rcommenda, and find cool things. One thing I think is good to know that there was construction work at the second or third task, but u could just skip it with the help of the app and the next one already was in an accessible area.
