St. Stephen's Basilica (Szent Istvan Bazilika)
Visit the unique church square of St. Stephen's Basilica and admire the impressive building with its unique reliefs, mosaics and, of course, its dazzling frescoes! The third largest church in Hungary, spanning a length of 87 meters, a width of 55 meters, and a maximum height of 96 meters, is exactly the same height as the Parliament building. The enormous church honors St. Stephen I, the first king of Hungary, who established Christianity in the kingdom. And if all that is not enough, redeem your combined ticket and the treasury - accessible by elevator and stairs - can be visited by the guests arriving here, which has been expanded to three rooms, and which preserves such wonderful relics as, for example, the mummified Right hand. Then take a walk around the panoramic terrace, where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the city.
Full admission:: Grants access to the church hall, the treasury and the panoramic terrace as well.

we bought a ticket that indicated we should be at the basilica at 9:00 am. The basilica wasn't open until 1pm. When we returned at 1pm we did not get to "skip the line" they made us line up like everyone else. We could have just bought a ticket at the basilica and got the same experience and it would have been cheaper.

The guide was great in explaining the history in detail and answering our questions, would have enjoyed a bit more had the guide accompanied us to both treasury and panoramic view point. We had not idea when we were at the panoramic view point what we were looking at like what landmarks.

Excellent tour, our guide Fanni, was very good and very informative, we did not get the dome ticket so just a fyi if you really want to see that part buy it with your church admission as we are being told we can’t buy just the dome part after the fact. The inside is beyond words and is a must see. I wish we had done smaller euro bills to have given her tip but we didn’t have any and we are extremely sorry so make sure you have some smaller bills.

We had a 1 hour tour of the basilica and highly recommend doing this if you are in Budapest. Our guide Mariana was very knowledgeable and had some fantastic insights into the history of the basilica. After the tour you are then free to continue to wander around the church hall, visit the treasury and do the dome 360 degree walk. Views are amazing (even on a misty day as was ours). Highly recommend.

This visit was made up of 2 sides, the exterior and the interior. The outside with a physical guide, which explained a bit of the history of Hungary, as well as the birth of the building in question, very good. The second part with the visit to the building itself, with audio guide, very nice to visit and with good details of the history. I recommend this visit, it's worth it

Marina was a superb tour guide with lots of knowledge on the Basilica and took time to also send us recommendations of other things to do in Budapest which was great. Make sure to take your time to go up to the terrace after the main tour.
