My cousins from France visited me a few weeks ago and told me to show them around Budapest. Even though I'm Budapest-born, I had always wanted to see my town from a visitor's perspective so I decided to book a tour with Budapest Urban Walks instead. We wanted to cover as much area as we could and it was supposed to be a really hot day so I decided to book a car tour with a tour guide. Ferenc is a very knowledgeable guide who's full of interesting tales and never misses an opportunity to squeeze some humour into his narrative whenever possible. We absolutely loved the tour and would love to book another one some time in the future in another town in Hungary.

Ask for Ferenc as your tour guide! It's one thing to see the sights, which are beautiful, but a much more insightful experience to discuss all that has made Budapest what it is today. Ferenc talked to us about the Nazis, Russian occupation, the Gypsy culture, the significance of each of the Districts, how to best relate to the locals, and so much more. He answered our hundreds of questions on any and all subjects. We were able to truly experience and appreciate the beauty and the grit of Budapest thanks to Ferenc. Highly recommend.
