Tour started late - not the fault of the tour operator, so we had to eliminate part of it. First part had decent narration but as time went on, that became less and less. Might have been a good scenic drive in the fall when the leaves are changing, but for me, it was a lot of money to see trees and not much else.

Full day activity, picked up at cruise ship port by Tom our driver, had a sign with our names so very clear and his company matched what we were sent by Viator after booking. Takes a bit of time to get to the scenic portion of Cape Breton. During this time Tom provided great information about Sydney and the surrounding area. The beauty of the area was worth the ride, just spectacular, quite stunning can only imagine it being enhanced further by the autumn leaves in September! Tom made good stops for refreshment, stretching, bathroom and scenery, and took pictures for us. His knowledge of the area is clear and his enthusiasm for his role was very evident and appreciated! Two advantages of a separate booking with Viator when on a cruise: PRICE, about half! But just as important, nicely appointed van with 10 people versus a huge bus with many more. Being far more agile, we were able to get a faster start and see even more of the beauty of Cape Breton! Highly recommend this trip!

Long day on a very comfortable and safely driven bus with few stops on most scenic viewpoints. This is the best you can do with the time a cruise allows you on the ground. A local man provided commentary along the way which was packed with good information but some technical issues with the microphone made it difficult for many at times to follow, but no biggie as there were plenty of opportunities to ask directly and fill the gaps. There is no lunch break but a stop at a bakery to get sandwiches and sweets (some limited Gluten free options available).

The bus was waiting for us at the Port. We quickly and easily boarded for our day. We had a lovely day exploring Cabot Trail and Cape Breton Island. There are several stops about 10-15 minutes apart. Plenty to see and you don’t get stiff from sitting too long on the bus. We arrived back to the ship on time. Everything was great and well organized.
