First I want to say that Maria and the hike were a great part of the trip however the logistics and communication getting to and from the hike were not a great experience. First the stop in ousna (which the site says we would not go to because it was not a Sunday) needed to be thought through more. This could be a great part of the stop but all you do is walk through the town with a huge group without seeing a lot and little explanation of the town. Our guide barely talked to anyone outside of two girls which he appeared to know personally. Then when stopping for lunch we were told how important it was to eat and use the bathroom before the next stop because there would not be another chance. We only had about an hour to do this. There were not enough tables to sit everyone in the group and by the time we sat down with other people because they invited us, we only had 20 minutes to order and eat. The staff at the restaurant were also not friendly when trying to get food quickly. All this while the guide ordered food on his own and got to sit in a separate section since he knew the staff without making sure all on the tour were taken care of. This was not a good look. Also while rushing to use the bathroom at the restaurant which only had 1 women’s and 1 men’s stall, we were waiting around for an extra 20 mins before we actually left. Once we did get to the meeting point to start the hike there were a lot more available bathrooms which would have been more convenient to use. Lastly when ending the hike, since we were running behind the guide rushed us all to the bus even leaving some people behind which eventually caught up on there own. Overall logistically not a great experience and cannot recommend to others.

Booking a guided tour was the only last-minute way to get inside... Advice: Book your tickets online WELL IN ADVANCE FOR ALL SPANISH ATTRACTIONS! Tickets tend to be booked in spades by travel agencies who then re-package them into considerably more expensive guided tours. On the positive side, we have walked through this gorge and took in its incredible beauty and the surroundings (an approximately 2-hour walk). The tour company was nice, they accommodated our request to pick us up right at the entrance, not at the official tour pick-up point in Seville, and the guide was upbeat, nice, and provided some additional background info on the path history, fauna, celebrity visitations, etc. A highly recommended experience! (But you can read the story ahead of your visit, book online, and walk the path by yourselves at a fraction of the price if you book well in advance)!

The hike itself was unique and wonderful. The gorge is beautiful. But it was a long day when you go from Seville. You spend a lot of time on the bus. When we got to the trailhead area, we had to wait more than an hour before we started the hike. Too much down time. Would not have done it if I had read all the reviews and known ahead of time.

The hike was excellent but to only provide one overpriced option for lunch was disappointing, other options should be made available

The hike is breathtaking. Amazing. One of a kind. We have 3 kids one youngest 11 years old and she did great. It is very high. Hike is not technically difficult. About 4 miles. Always seemed safe. But very high. So glad we did it. The day is long. We left at 10 am and got back at 8:45 pm. Stopping in Osuna was a nice break and very enlightening. Spent about 90 minutes there. The entire day there is a bit too much downtime. Hike is about 2 to 2.5 hours. The park guide (not our tour guide) was a bit slow for being a park guide as far as hiking pace. Our tour guide Rebeca was fantastic. Very informative. Kept the entire day a lot of fun.
