Cape Agulhas – Where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans Truly Meet
One foot in the Atlantic, one in the Indian Ocean — an iconic Cape Agulhas moment.
Cape Agulhas is the southernmost tip of Africa and the official meeting point of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. Visitors can stand at the iconic southernmost tip sign, explore the rugged coastline, and enjoy spectacular panoramic views. The area is rich in history, with the Cape Agulhas Lighthouse—one of the oldest in South Africa—offering museum exhibits and breathtaking vistas after a climb to the top.
The region also features unique rocky beaches, quaint coastal villages like Struisbaai, and excellent spots for photography, especially at sunrise or sunset. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy walking trails, birdwatching, and even local seafood at nearby restaurants. I recently did the Table Mountain → Cape Point → Boulders Beach tour, and it was absolutely worth it! From start to finish, the day was beautifully curated, and we experienced some of Cape Town’s most iconic sights.
