Cascais is a seaside town 30 km west of Lisbon with a sunny and relaxed climate, always combined with a certain hedonism and a hint of sophistication. Would you call it "hippie chic"?
You can go to the beach half of the year, run, bike or surf all year round. Or get involved in a gastronomic marathon eating grilled fish, caught right there in the sea, But you can simply take the train to enjoy an ice cream at Santini, one of the best delicacies in Cascais. That said, the capital of the Sun Coast is also a perfect place to do nothing all day… except to contemplate the sea while you exercise your right to see and be seen. All that glitter and glamour, it is also important to remember, were not always there, quite the opposite. 150 years ago, Cascais was an abandoned and ghost town, which by an extraordinary turn - almost like a magic trick - became a noble haven. The purpose of this tour is to shed some light on these amazing and still remarkable changes in the Portuguese Riviera.

Wonderful guide with a deep knowledge of the Cascais area. This tour provided a great foundation for our 2 weeks visit to this area.

Luis is a knowledgeable and personable guide who provided very interesting information on the local culture, history and architecture. He proceeded at a comfortable pace and readily answered all questions. We felt like we were on a tour with a family friend. A great experience. It was so interesting that the time passed quickly. We learned a great deal and enjoyed our experience.

Lus, our guide was great! Very friendly and super knowledgeable/informative. The pace was good with opportunity to sit if you needed to along the way. Booked the morning tour so the temperature was perfect. Would definitely recommend this tour (and guide!) to get a high level history over- view! Nina - Canada.

The tour with Luis was very enriching! Although we have been to Cascais many times before, he was able to show us new places that are not yet known to us. He also has excellent historical knowledge, so now we walk through you city with a completely different knowledge. Some things are now also opening up to us from a completely different angle. Luis took our wishes and needs into account during the tour and was able to incorporate them flexibly and confidently into his program! Highly recommended! We hope to come back to Cascais/Lisbon sometime and then book another tour with him!

Very nice visit. You benefit from the guide exclusively (we were in a couple). This allows us to ask the questions we want and go at our own pace. Luis speaks very good French. We recommend this activity without hesitation.

We had a very enjoyable walk around Cascais . Luis with his comprehensive knowledge brought Cascais to life. We loved hearing about the people, the architecture, the links to James Bond and with the UK. It was a very hot morning and Luis took the walk slowly and found shaded spots. Thank you Luis.

Very friendly hosts, good to see the Bay from the sea. Drinks and peanuts included, can get quite cool so think about taking extra clothes

Outstanding, informational tour! Luis showed us all the key sights in Cascais, but more importantly, explained WHY they were important. The history, politics, economics, architecture, and art of this area are fascinating, and Luis patiently explained it all. It's like a master class in all things Cascais. Easy walk too! Highly recommended for people who want to learn, not just see.
