My sons (49 and 53) and I (78) took the tour this morning. The staff were very friendly and extremely professional in preparing us for our tour wrt all aspects of kayaking. The scenery at Cathedral Cove, and along the way there and back, was spectacular, and guide Hayden shared with us his literary unbelievable extent of knowledge about the geology and its formation, the marine life, and the European and Maori history of the area. I think it will probably be the highlight of our holiday. Many thanks!!

Very organized and customer focused team met us on the beach for our tour. Hayden was an outstanding guide. Knowledgeable in the area and paced our group just right to cover the beautiful sights of cathedral cove. Highly recommend this group.

This was the first time in many years since my wife and I had kayaked and the Cathedral Cove folks made it a wonderful and memorable experience. The equipment was first rate, they took safety seriously but above all they wanted us to enjoy the experience and we did. The staff was truly exceptional and Mason, our guide was helpful, knowledgeable and made a variety of coffee drinks right on the beach. Not sure how he did it but he did. Thanks for a wonderful morning on the water. They also have a great line of T-Shirts.

This kayak tour was excellent. Well organised, with good email communication beforehand. Our guide/expert was Tashelle, and she was superb- very informative about the locations, the sea life, Māori history and legends, and really good at teaching those with less kayaking experience. The kayaking itself was a beautiful way to experience a bit of New Zealand’s coast. The crystal clear water allowed us to watch fish-snapper and stingrays. We also saw a gannet diving, pied cormorants, and really felt part of the sea. I can’t recommend this highly enough. Worth every penny.

This is a well organized and experienced group. Very thorough getting us set up and our guide, Mason, was very informative. You couldn’t ask for a more beautiful spot to kayak. Equipment was in great shape and comfortable. Mason took pictures and emailed them to us, and at our stop at Cathedral Cove he made coffee, hot cocoa, and tea. Nice touch. At the end of our trip Mason shared several suggestions of things to do in the area.

We had a fantastic time! We lucked out with gorgeous weather and calm water, but I think it would have been wonderful in any weather. Our guide, Brad, was super informative about the local history, wildlife, geology, and even tidbits about film locations, and the beverage on the beach was a nice touch. Highly recommend!

The experience started with our guide, Lui introducing himself to us. Very thoroughly, he went over the way to paddle a kayak, how to attach the splash skirt and how to store our bring alongs. We paddled about 6 km in all with a number of "raftups" where all our group's kayaks came together for him to talk about the history or significance about a feature. One thing I really enjoyed was Lui's discussion and explanation of the Mãori history in the area. Lui told numerous stories including how the town of Hahei came to be named as a result of a Mãori Chief seeing an island that reminded him of his nose. We paddled through a hole in a huge rock, had some excellent coffee and cookies cooked by Lui right on the beach where we had a chance to spend about 30 minutes enjoying the beach at Cathedral Cove. Good exercise, beautiful sights, excellent guiding, made this experience incredibly well worth the money and time.

Brad was an amazing guide, so many great stories about the area. A perfect kayaking day. One of the most beautiful beaches we’ve been to.
