What To Expect

The Te Whanganui-A-Hei Marine Reserve opens up a sea kayaking paradise full of beaches, islands and rock gardens that are just waiting to be explored. Paddle through sea caves, interact with the local marine life and discover the thrill of kayak sailing with the wind on your back. The tour offers great photo opportunities and is topped off with cappuccinos, hot chocolates and cookies at Cathedral Cove!

Due to weather , we were allowed to do kayaking at a different sight . But the experience was amazing and crew was very friendly as well

Really loved my kayaking trip along the coast - our lovely guide Brad shared so much history with us about the region so I felt I learned heaps. Coffees and cookies on the beach were a perfect mid trip snack and gave everyone the chance for a small break before getting back into the water. The kit was all high quality and I felt super safe being out in the water - the pace of the tour was also very comfortable. I’d definitely do more tours with Cathedral Cove Kayak Tours.

This was a highlights for my entire trip! The water was fantastic and the scenery stunning. There is something really special about seeing these famous landmarks from the water, where you paddled yourself to location to see it. The view feels earned (somehow). Our tour guide (shout out Nathan) was FANTASTIC! Super chill, friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and clear with instructions (especially for the inexperienced kayaker). Coffee on the beach was a nice touch. We did get to see some of the wildlife (a sting ray!) which was super cool. Did this experience with a friend, and I am so glad we went for it. Totally worth it! To anyone on the fence, I would say "DO IT!"

Lucked out with perfect weather sea kayaking with our guide Georgia. The views of the coastline and islands were stunning, as was Cathedral Cove. Also got to learn about Māori when they arrived and things about ecology and marine life.
