We couldn't recommend Cathedral Cove Kayak Tours enough. We are a family of 4 with 2 boys aged 5 and 7. Our awesome guide Ajay was informative, fun and helped to make this a memorable experience for our whānau.

Visiting beautiful coastal scenes in the Cathedral coves. A group of 8 people in 4 kayaks, people of all different ages and origins, but all working together to make things work. And wow, it worked! Me, travelling alone, I found myself in the kayak with the tour guide. Me doing all the rowing while he called out explaining things to everyone. And it was really worth it. A beautiful afternooon in beautiful scenary. And doing it together. Really worth it.

I really was not looking forward to the Kayak tour that our travel agent had booked for our family of nine, as my wife and I are getting on in years ( 70+), and our sporting abilities and desires continue to diminish over time. However, from the first moment that we met our guides Ollie and Sam on Hahei Beach, we felt comfortable knowing that we were in good hands. Although the trip to Stingray Beach and Cathedral Cove, followed by a paddle around Pigeon Island, was indeed tiring, we had a fantastic morning. This is a great thing to spend a few hours doing while visiting New Zealand, and we all agreed that we were very glad that we were able to take it!!

Beautiful sunset kayak to Cathedral Cove with our great guide Jodie. She was really friendly and informative and made us feel welcome. We really appreciated all the information she gave us about the marine reserve, wildlife and geography. Freshly made hot chocolate in Cathedral Cove was a lovely treat after swimming.

This is a must do activity. The tour company are so friendly and helpful. We had Georgia who was amazing. She made it fun and was knowledgeable and told us all about the history of the area. The coffee on the beach was amazing with even the milk being frothed in a milk frother and the water was boiled on a gas burner so the coffee was nice and hot. Afterwards we sailed back with a sail which was an added bonus as we didn't have to paddle back. Saved my back and core. Rate this company and Georgia 10/10. Thanks Georgia for an awesome day and for making it such fun. Loved our pics you sent to us afterwards

Wonderful experience with the family. AJ was professional and informative and made us at ease on the water. Water was a little choppy but easily managed. Got to see two New Zealand Little Blue Penguins which was awesome. Great time and highly recommended. Also fun time with kayak sailing.

Pros: Nice long tour- we have enough time both kayaking and beach time at the Cove Super friendly and helpful guide Very sturdy kayak boat, very little change to get tipped over Cons: Can’t think of anything

Took the sunset tour - was soooo quiet and was enjoyable as there were much less people around at that time. Enjoyed the hot chocolate!

The tour was definitely worth the money. Our tour guide Lui was very nice and told us a lot about the history around this beautiful place. On the beach at Cathedral Cove there was a break to take photos, bathe and coffee and cookies. After that we kayaked around a few islands and back again. Clearly a more exciting way to the Cove than on foot. In addition, really great photos were taken during the tour. :D Since I'm traveling alone it was a great way to meet other nice people and spend a nice time together at the water.:-) highly recommended
