What To Expect

Cham Island (Cu Lao Cham)

After pickup, travel to Cua Dai Wharf and board a traditional Vietnamese wooden boat. Relax on your hour-long ride to Cham Island and enjoy a coffee on board. After arrival at Hon Nhon Beach, take some time to swim and snorkel at your pleasure. Cham Island is a world biosphere reserve area recognized by UNESCO. Discover the area's beautiful sea life. Then, enjoy a delicious seafood lunch at a Cham Jungle Restaurant. Travel to Bai Chong Beach and take the opportunity to rest in the hammocks, sunbathe or take another swim. Return to the boat and the journey back to your hotel in Hoi An or Da Nang

The description was for a wooden boat, drinking a coffee. We were in a speedboat- no coffee. The snorkelling did not live up to expectations, sea life in the 45 minutes allowed for snorkelling was few and far to be seen.

Unfortunately, the tour was not as we had imagined. The crossing to the island took place in a speedboat, which was really fun. Unfortunately, this boat was not only meant for the crossing, but for the whole trip. This meant that you spent the whole time in a cramped boat, had to change into cramped space here after snorkeling, had no space and you felt like you were in a sardine can. Unfortunately, the tour guide wasn’t really great either, it seemed like he just wanted to do his program. The snorkeling equipment was, at least for me, not really useful and had also seen better times. The tour itself can certainly be very nice, but I strongly recommend paying attention to the excursion boat. A speedboat is definitely not suitable for this.

Nice trip! 🌞 We visited a beautiful spot to snorkel (saw a lot of fish and coral) and had a nice lunch + swim at a beautiful beach. Would recommend, but not for the weakharted because the boat ride was very wild because of the wind. ;)
