Not knowing the area and it being pretty much a once in a lifetime visit I decided to pay for the full guided tour experience, and I'm very pleased I did. The meeting point was easy to find in the main bus stop square. Tony, our guide for the day, was very welcoming and knowledgeable and assisted us in exploring Chamonix and the various attractions. The town was beautiful and the cable car and viewpoint totally exhilarating. I imagine it's rather weather dependent and we were very lucky to have beautiful clear views the day we went. Being mid-March it was still very cold at the top of the cable car and train, while quite toasty in town, so try to wear layers and definitely take sunglasses. The coach journey was very scenic and comfortable. You could probably arrange do the activities yourself, but if you have limited time and want to ensure you don't miss something and to avoid all the stress then this is a terrific tour I'd certainly recommend.

Informative and interesting, the mountains were stunning and beautiful. Well worth a visit even if not a great lover of snow!

Best trip we have ever done, so well organised, our guide Chris was really fantastic. Clear information and instructions throughout the day. I have a health issue and at one stage he saw that I was struggling a bit, he was very understanding and helped lot. The experience was amazing. Didn't feel rushed, but we packed a lot into one day. Thank you Chris

This trip exceeded our expectations and one of the best days of our European holiday. Our guide Chris is very knowledgeable and friendly which made it even more enjoyable. We would recommend this trip. Make sure you can visit ice cave that is curved out of glacier too. We were in awe.

Overall, this was a great tour. It is more on the expensive side, but if you have a single day and you wanna pack the three main items in, go for it. It’s a once in a lifetime experience. The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Now my only complaint was, he did not do very good coordinating all the people. There were several times that I noticed and brought it to his attention that we had left some people behind, and he stated that they would catch up. There’s even two young girls that were left behind when we did the ice caves, and by the time they realized which way to go, was too late for them, and they were very emotionally upset and in tears. I feel that the company should have compensated them for this loss of of the tour. But again, besides that this one’s a great tour and amazing beautiful scenery!

Be prepared for a full day. We opted for the mountain train but not the cable car. This gave us around 3.5 hr free time in Chamonix which we were glad we did. Chamonix was much larger than we had thought with lots of restaurants, bars and shops. The mountain train and glacier was fantastic and for us a must do. Altogether a great day trip and very well organised. No issues at all.
