What To Expect
Full-Day Chianti Wine Safari. - If you dream of a classic Chianti experience, this full-day tour is for you! Departing from Florence, you’ll travel deep into the Chianti Classico wine region, famous for its Sangiovese-based wines and breathtaking vineyard-covered hills. You’ll visit two top-rated wineries located in two splendid Tuscan villas, explore their ancient cellars, and taste a variety of Chianti Classico DOCG wines with cheese and cured meat tastings. The adventure continues with an off-road drive through private vineyards, stopping at scenic viewpoints for photos. A traditional Tuscan lunch will be served at a winery restaurant, featuring local appetizers and handmade pasta. Duration: 9 hours

Full-Day Val d’Orcia Wine Safari: Brunello and Montepulciano - Immerse yourself in the magic of Val d’Orcia, one of Tuscany’s most breathtaking and iconic landscapes, where rolling wheat fields, ancient stone villages, and endless vineyards create a scene straight out of a Renaissance painting. This full-day off-road wine safari takes you deep into the heart of Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano territory—two of Italy’s most celebrated red wines. Visit prestigious wineries and learn about the aging process of Brunello, one of Italy’s most prized and long-lived red wines. Taste a selection of Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino, followed by a delicious multi-course lunch with wine pairings at a Pecorino cheese farm in Pienza. In the afternoon, we’ll continue our off-road journey to Montepulciano region, where you’ll explore historic wine cellars and enjoy more tastings of Vino Nobile, a wine fit for kings. 5.00Chris and Pablo were so great! We had an amazing time with the family. Chris was super friendly and very knowledgeable. He was also a great photographer and offered to take pictures of everyone on the tour. The wine was amazing and the dinner at the end was so good. The scenery of the country side was beautiful and we had a great view during dinner!

5.00Sara our brilliant guide was super attentive, very knowledgeable and passionate about her subject. The wineries visited were fantastic and with generous wine tastings that were superbly explains at all times. A delightful trip to out of the way Chianti winery. Tis a long day but split with a pleasant lunch and yet more wines.

5.00This was a great tour from Walkabout! My husband and I were so pleased with this tour and the guide was amazing. My husband does not drink wine, but he loved it anyway. The views were spectacular and everything was planned out so well. Highly recommend.

5.00My family and I had a wonderful time on this tour with our guide Sara and our driver Cristof! Our tour group consisted of seven people, and we visited Villa Le Corti, Rignana, and Tenuta Poggio Torselli. At each location, we tasted 3-5 wines, and the wine was always served with some kind of food (bread, olive oil, meats, cheeses, etc.). The locations were all stunning, we loved the wines that we tasted, lunch at La Cantinetta Di Rignana was incredible, and the tour was very well organized, giving just enough time for everything at each location. There was also zero pressure from the staff at each location to buy their wine, though we did do so at two locations. I cannot speak highly enough of our guide Sara! Sara is a certified sommelier with an obvious passion for wine and a mission to make it accessible to everyone. I went on this tour nine days ago, and looking back, I'm amazed at how much information Sara managed to share without making it seem overwhelming and how much of this information I still retain: from the agriculture of growing wine grapes, to the process of making wine, to the Italian wine classification system, to the steps involved in formally tasting a wine. It's no exaggeration to say that the information Sara shared changed my perspective on wine. I went in to this tour having never really loved any of the wine I had had, and I came out understanding why that was and how I could find wines that I actually like going forward. I absolutely recommend going on this tour if you have the chance!

5.00Fun ride out into the Tuscan Chianti region on a modified military vehicle. Pretty countryside. Lots of info about wine snd winemaking. Good group lunch. Nice tastings. Tony made it fun, even in the rain.

5.00Our tour was fantastic! Everything we wanted it to be. Our guide, Alessandro and our driver, Fabio were wonderful. Alessandro was so friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable and created a great environment for all of us to get to know each other, learn about Florence’s history, and experience Florentine food and wine. The first vineyard was absolutely gorgeous and Nora showed us around and walked us through their wine making process. The wine and cheese pairings were delicious and even me (who typically prefers white wine) loved it all. The restaurant for lunch was another stunning view and the food was 10/10. It was great to try some new authentic Florentine foods like lard crostini and wild boar ragu and everything we ate was truly so good. This tour was one of the highlights of our Italian vacation so far. I would emphatically recommend this to anyone if you’re in Florence!
