Wonderful trip. Great docent presentation. Comfortable chairs. Clean boat. Professional crew. Lecture left me wanting to learn more. Perhaps warn folks about the fact that the weather can change in a moment and to bring something warm to wear just in case. And a hat for the sun. Would take this tour or another version of it in a heartbeat.

FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT IN OAK PARK was my 67th tour with the Chicago Architecture Center. Yes, 67th! Although I live in the Oak Park/River Forest area, seeing the incredible Frank Lloyd Wright homes through another lens always deepens my appreciation of architectural genius. Our docent, Dan, navigated us along a promenade of 1890s and early 1900s Frank Lloyd Wright’s homes. Yes, signature designs were illuminated, but peppered with fascinating anecdotes about FLW’s ego, exaggerations and eccentricities. The CAC elevates architectural genius with intriguing narratives. Never assume you know about a building or neighborhood. The CAC will surprise you with serendipity and delightful discoveries.
