We had a great time seeing the Chicago Skyline from boat and hearing about the history of the architecture of Chicago. Our tour guide, Dylan, did an outstanding job!

This is would be a great solo, couple, friends or family excursion. There is a bar on board (no cash) and bathrooms. Dress for the weather because you will be exposed to the elements. We had the best time and our tour guide Kevin was incredible!

Very easy to find the stop (walk down the stairs when you see the Apple store, make a left, and keep walking until you see the line). If you get Don as your tour guide, you're in great hands because not only is he a school teacher, but you can tell he's passionate about what he does by how knowledgeable he is and how hilariously he puts his teaching skills to work to keep your attention. I recommend doing a tour close to sunset time as it's not as hot and you'll get a nice breeze post-tour. This was my second time doing an architecture tour and I will continue taking new Chicago visitors on this tour every time.

You’ll learn quirky facts about almost every building on the skyline to the extent that it will actually help you navigate as you walk the city because each structure will begin to look so different from the next. For coffee lovers, please note that there’s an option to bring beverages on board, and there’s a Starbucks situated inside the food hall of Navy Pier, making for a convenient experience of grabbing a latte beforehand to take on the cruise! I recommend ordering on the mobile app if the Starbucks line is long. Speaking of ordering ahead, if you purchase your ticket(s) for the boat online and walk up a few minutes late, the organizers for the tour will help you transfer or upgrade your ticket for the next available time slot so that your funds don’t go to waste! I tried to walk over from my hotel and miscalculated, learning that the boat truly boards 15 minutes in advance as advertised and departs right on time, but in the end, I was able to take a later boat for a longer tour and pay the $7 difference – plus, the scenario gave me time to look around a little and obtain my precious coffee! The whole experience was a memorable win.
