After registration, the meeting point is at the Käfigturm. Then you walk through the old town. On the way, you can enjoy Bern's chocolate history. You will be served well-known chocolates. At the shop of a small chocolatier, you will also receive a box with a selection of award-winning chocolates.
Conching was developed in Bern and has become the standard method for making chocolate worldwide. This is Bern's most important chocolate history, but at the same time it is also the least known. By being shown the conching technique, you will learn the true story of today's chocolate (melted chocolate).
At the end, you will have seen the old town of Bern from a sweet perspective. Each guest must then decide for themselves whether Bern was a chocolate capital or whether the claim is just marketing.

Tour was as described, but based off previous fod tours I was expecting to taste chocolate inside the shops. We started with a few pre-packaged chocolates and then moved to an chocolate shop where we had ice cream and received chocolates from that store. Overall more chocolate than I could eat in one tour.

Great team occasion! We booked the tour for our team and were all delighted. We experienced so many interesting aspects of the Swiss chocolate story, the tastings were great and Felix answered all our questions superbly, even made an extra stop. Absolutely worth seeing and experiencing!

The whole tour was relaxing and informative. And tasty! The presenter did a great job in translating between English and German. Would highly recommend to any chocolate connoisseurs. There was even historical references to how chocolate was brought to Switzerland (the pictures I included).

Very knowledgeable guide that took us around on more quiet streets as well as the usual busy ones. The pictures he showed us as we learned about the history of chocolate were helpful.

There was plenty of chocolate during the tour that Felix carries with him so you don't go into chocolate shops but that isn't really an issue. He shares a great deal of history on the development of the chocolate industry since its inception in the 1700's. It is a good tour but stay close to Felix as his accent is quite strong so you don't miss anything.

We had less than one day in Bern, and thought that something combining the city's history with chocolate has to be a good use of time. And it was - Felix gave us a great tour, sharing his broad knowledge of both city and chocolate history, and gave lots of samples! With all that chocolate sampling and walking on a hot day, he even provided cups for drinking from the many fountains. Felix was able to answer any question our group asked. Two hours was just the right amount of time. Try it!
