Churchill Polar Bear expedition with Frontiers North Adventure company. This is the only company that I know which offers a one day trip from Winnipeg to see the polar bears in the Tundra of Churchill. One day was just enough for us and we got to see about 7-8 polar bears at close quarters. It was a small group of about 30 people and the company representatives Anna and Sophia were friendly and helpful in their communications. The tour is typically about 6-7 hours long, but due to poor weather in Churchill, our flight got delayed by couple of hours, which made the time on the Tundra shorter. They serve lunch during the tour, which was quite delicious- butternut squash soup and a falafel wrap for me, being a vegetarian. The driver of our buggy and the guide of the tour, both could have been more informative, so as to educate us better about the polar bears. Other than that, it was a great experience and I would reccomend this company highly.

Frontiers North is the only Tundra Buggy we did on this trip and my goodness, our driver/ guide Jaamie did not disappoint. While driving a converted school bus sitting on monster truck tires, he was able to spit Polar Bears, Snow Hares, Ptarmagen and Red Fox. Jamie was able to put us onto 5 bears throughout the tour including a momma and 1 cub and then a momma bear with 2 cubs for epic, bucket list photos. Frontiers also included a wonderful lunch of soup and sandwich with 4 or 5 sandwich options as well as coffee, different hot teas, and hot cocoa that would all come with a cookie/ biscuit. If you want the tundra buggy experience (it’s pretty rad), then go with Frontier an ak for Jamie!

We had an unforgettable trip to see the bears and the subarctic wildlife out on the Tundra. Our guide Duane was very knowledgeable, professional with some amazing stories. Everything was arranged well and went smoothly. Our buggy driver Jim rocked! He was so funny and such an interesting character. The love and respect these 2 gentleman have for the bears and wildlife is inspiring. We saw many bears and also got to see them sparring, being super cute (themselves!), walking on ice etc. We also saw foxes, an adorable Arctic hare and different birds. The only suggestion for improvement is for those in pre-trip to be more responsive as I had to write in and follow up on some of the information, rather than it being shared with me. I really enjoyed myself and will never forget this trip!

Trip with FN was fantastic, beyond our expectations!! Alex, our guide was awesome, provided lots of information. Lodging and meals were very good. Even though location is in the frozen tundra (very cold!), I highly recommend this trip!!
