As we take in the stunning view of the sea from the vineyard, you'll begin the class by learning the fascinating history of pesto from Spezia.

Cesarina will explain the traditional system of using the best basil plants and carefully selecting high-quality ingredients to ensure the best flavor. Then, you'll learn the two methods of preparing pesto: using a mortar and pestle or an electric blender and you'll recieve tips on how to properly store the pesto to keep it fresh for as long as possible.

After you've made pesto, you'll package it up to take home and enjoy. You can savor the fruits of your labor either when you return home or on a rocky cliff overlooking the sea.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! My husband and I booked this for a morning on our honeymoon in Riomaggiore and it exceeded our expectations. Barbara and Stefano are adorable and incredible teachers. We will hands down be making pesto and salad weekly in our home. We even bought a mortar and pestle in the town to be able to make it properly! Next time we travel we will take any classes that Cesarine offers without hesitation. Highly, highly recommend!

We had the very best time with Barbara and Stefano! The views were absolutely worth the walk out of the city center to get to the winery in the hillside. Everything about this experience felt very hospitable and welcoming. We will never forget our time here.
