5.00The moment we (my cousin and I) were in front of the Statue of Liberty, it was magical. I have only seen this monument in books or in TV but nothing could prepare me for this real life experience. It felt historical in the very best way. I could imagine the families, the solo travelers, arriving from other parts of the world to this country. This country that once called to the world’s poor, and hungry. May we remember the roots we first planted, and begin to honor that memory and make peace in action with all the ancestors of this land.
