On this tour we travel through the 2000 years of London's history from the days of the Roman invasion to present day.
We will see many of the iconic buildings and places which have played a major role in shaping this part of London - The Tower of London, St Paul's Cathedral, The Monument to the Great Fire and hear how the financial centre has grown over the past 20 years. We also visit some places where most tours do not go. Private rooms and cellars and ancient pubs tucked away beneath the towering skyscrapers.
There are many opportunities to pause to take photos and on certain days there will be guest speakers who will relate more stories of the history of these places. Lunch can taken in a typical London coffee house or cafe or in a local pub.

Nigel arranged a customized private walking tour of Roman London, plus some changes we requested to our original agenda at the last minute. We never could have covered all the territory and learned so much if it hadn’t been for him. I can’t imagine doing this any other way. Definitely not a standard, canned tour! If you want the best of the best, arrange a tour with Nigel!

Fantastic walking tour with Nigel. We started near the Tower of London viewing the remains of the Roman wall, before going down to see Tower Bridge. We visited Leadenhall Market, where Nigel took us into a local hairdresser where there is a Roman surprise in the basement. We visited a temple, the Bank of England and Borough Market, where we had a lovely lunch. There was so much more that we saw, all explained expertly by Nigel in an informative and humorous way. Would highly recommend this tour. You won’t be disappointed!
