Amazing guide exceptionally knowledgeable and good fun.... Great experience, long day but well worth it,

  • It was just ok, especially for the cost. Van was extremely crowded. Gave to much of his opinions on matters.

Guide did not give facts about the areas, I.e., cost of homes work opportunities, etc. Too much talk about celebrities & movies. He was obsessed about McDonalds! Mentioned it many, many times, mostly in the negative.

Great tour with a very experienced and informative host (sorry we don’t know his name). He was happy to change the itinerary to accommodate us and we all had a great time.

Here's what I didn't ask which made me depart the tour at the very first stop: the mode of transportation. It was a 15 person van that was packed and I was stuck in the middle of 4 seats in the back. I'm a fairly broad guy and I was so uncomfortable in a seat that was more narrow than a basic economy airline seat. I had a gentleman to my left and a senior lady ro my right and I know that my presence encroached upon them. It was about 45 minutes from pick up at the port until our first stop and I couldn't wait to get out. I had assumed it was going to be a tour bus, but that was my error for assuming. The driver/guide understood and offered to switch people around but I was not going to be "that person" to disrupt anyone else's chosen seat. Aside from being uncomfortable, any of the sights of note we did pass were difficult for me to see or photograph being stuck in the middle of a row in the back. I hope the tour operator considers, at the very least, to give me a partial refund.

  • Very Disappointed: Not The Tour That Was Advertised

I booked the Los Angeles tour six months ago in advance for pickup at a cruise ship at the San Pedro Cruise. I was completely disappointed with the tour. It was not the tour that was described, and I did not get what I paid for. I booked through the company directly, and I specifically chose the tour because — as advertised on the website — it promised that the tour would be given on a 14-passenger minibus. I did not want to take the tour offered by my cruise ship because those tours would be given in enormous 40-seater buses. When the Sunseeker bus arrived, it was an enormous tourist bus that was not able to go to a lot of places on the tour because of traffic limitation on the size of transport. There were at least 40 people on the bus. There were simply too many people, and arriving at Mel’s Diner turned into a zoo when 40 of us walked in. We left the terminal 25 minutes late, and we arrived back at the terminal again an hour later than scheduled. It was not a good day. The driver spent most of the day apologizing, saying that he “didn’t usually do a big tour like this” and that he didn’t know how to handle a group. He gave us very little real information, just some personal thoughts about the city; he also had on-going conversations with the driver all day long about where we could go and how to get there, all done over the PA system of the bus. I cannot tell explain how disappointed I was with the trip. I would certainly not recommend the service. Sunseekers obviously oversold the tour to maximize their profit but at the expense of fulfilling the promises. To make matters worse, I booked directly with the company — as I said —only to find out that others on the tour had paid $30 per person less than my partner and I had. As a result, we overpaid by $60 and did not receive what we had been promised. Very disappointed.

  • A great idea, but...

I love the IDEA of this tour - I thought it would be a great way to kill the many hours between getting off our cruise ship and catching an evening flight our of LAX. The tour guide himself left a LOT to be desired. But even aside from that, the timing of the stops gave not enough time at places I wanted to see (Griffith) and too much at other places. The lunchtime stop at Mel's Drive In was perfect. The Colliseum could have been a drive-by. The commentary was random, incoherent, and frankly, unhinged. There must be a better way to spent a day in LA, but what to do with the luggage?!

  • Booked: Small group tour. A large tour bus drives up. No compensation. Locations weren't the ripper either.
