Move on with the tour and reach Circus Maximus, the largest stadium in Ancient Rome, built for chariot races. Imagine to be taking part of one of the Circus Maximus chariot races competitions in which participants tried to complete seven laps of the Circus Maximus. The competitors, mounted in small chariots drawn by horses, gambled much more than their prestige or large prizes in the races, since many of them were slaves fighting for their liberty.

5.00Our experience in Rome was incredible!! And our driver, Peter, deserves all the credit for that. Peter came to the cruise port to pick us up. He was on time and well prepared to make it an amazing tour. Peter's ability to share the history, sights, culture and essence of Rome, in eight hours, was exciting and informative. He was able to navigate the city, get us close to so many monuments, sites, and spectacular views, while simultaneously imparting his knowledge of, and obvious pride in, his city. He was also gracious enough to buy us pizza for a snack and he recommended a local restaurant where we enjoyed a delicious lunch. Such a glorious day! We visited many places during our cruising of the Mediterranean, but, thanks to our time with Peter, Rome was one of the best!

We had a phenomenal driver (his name is Alex Paolini) who not only knew the in’s and out’s of every part of the city, but he added a wonderful personality and personal touch to our experience. 5.00Giulia was amazing to work with. She was very transparent and efficient throughout the whole process. We hired Best Rome Driver to drive us from the port in Civitavecchia to the coliseum and the Vatican. Alex Paulini was put assigned driver and he was the Best. He has a lot of stores to tell and kept us awake and entertained. He told us about the good places to eat and dropped us off at convenient spots. He knows all the short cuts. Thank God we booked with them as he took us back to our cruise ship in ample time. We would not be able to do all these activities in one day without his knowledge of Rome area. Bonus is that thier company is the most cheapest you will find in the whole country .. I did my research and no le can beat their pricing for luxury service. Thier vans are new and are Mercedes Benz. We felt like we were celebrities being driven around the city of Rome and Vatican.

5.00Great day trip. Alex Paolini arrived early at our cruise ship terminal and was easy to find. We had a ton of luggage but he got all of ot in the van!! Definitely made it easy to see several sites in one day. Alex was very friendly and personable. Overall great day!

5.00We booked the “ Panoramic Rome, Bocelli's Music & Wine Tasting” from our Holland America Oosterdam cruise on Saturday April 26, docked in Civitavecchia. The entire trip to and around Rome was wonderful. Our driver Andrea Muccini is an excellent driver, and seemed to have an interesting story around every corner. We saw all the sites we’d hoped: St Peter’s Square, Pantheon, Colosseum, plus many many more, including some stops for pictures. We were hosted at the MECENATE PALACE HOTEL with a beautiful concert by very talented pianist and tenor, Fabio Montani and Adriano Gentili. Following the concert, our gracious and very animated host and his team presented a delicious 4 course dinner with a wine pairing for each course. The wines are from the Bocelli vineyard south of Pisa (yes, the family of Andrea Bocelli). The white wine and cheese in the second course were especially delicious together. The view of Rome from the restaurant terrace was breathtaking. We highly recommend this tour.
