Your fabulous Charming VIP Ancient Rome Shore excursion will begin as your English Speaking Driver picks you up you up from your cruise at the Civitavecchia Port and chauffeurs you to Rome city Center. In an elegant and comfortable Mercedes Benz Vehicle you will be chauffeured to the first stop of your tour: Colosseum and Roman Forum! Admire the glorious Flavian Amphitheatre, one of the capital's most remarkable monuments. During the Roman Empire the Roman Colosseum allowed more than 50,000 people to enjoy its finest spectacles. Circo Massimo

Move on with the tour and reach Circus Maximus, the largest stadium in Ancient Rome, built for chariot races. Imagine to be taking part of one of the Circus Maximus chariot races competitions in which participants tried to complete seven laps of the Circus Maximus. The competitors, mounted in small chariots drawn by horses, gambled much more than their prestige or large prizes in the races, since many of them were slaves fighting for their liberty.

Peter didn’t just take us to the typical tourist spots—he thoughtfully guided us off the beaten path, showing us hidden gems and local perspectives we never would have discovered on our own. Our driver Alex Paolini as absolutely amazing! Not only was he knowledgeable but went the extra mile mile helping us navigate to and from the different sites and even get out of his car and run down the road to help guide us! Above and beyond by anyone’s standards.

Our driver/guide, Alex Paolini, was very knowledgeable, punctual and accommodating. He showed us the main sights of Rome while navigating around closed streets due to a marathon was in progress. When it started to drizzle, no problem, he handed iut 4 umbrellas! Most importantly, he drove my party back to the cruise port in plenty of time. I highly recommend Alex and the Rome highlights tour.

We had an outstanding private tour of Rome from Civitavecchia, and our driver and guide Andrea made the entire experience truly special. From the moment we met him, Andrea was warm, welcoming, and incredibly professional. His knowledge of Rome is exceptional — he shared fascinating history and context at every stop, from the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon to the Colosseum and beyond, bringing each site to life in an engaging and easy-to-follow way. He was also fantastic at navigating the busy city and the crowded historical sites, keeping everything running smoothly and stress-free. As a bonus, Andrea took us to what was easily the best pizza we had in Rome, which added a wonderful local touch to the day. This tour was informative, seamless, and perfectly paced. Andrea’s expertise and attention to detail made it an unforgettable experience, and we highly recommend him to anyone visiting Rome.

We had a fabulous time, however if can avoid Sunday and a Catholic holiday, you would have less crowds. So glad we had a driver take us around and tell us about the sights, instead of doing Rome on our own.
