This was a fun tour. Great for older kids. Our guide Arik was quite knowledgeable and told some great stories of the cave's history and the area. He was laid back and personable, and didn't take himself too seriously. The minimum age for this tour is 5, but I'd suggest not bringing kids under 8.

Awesome tour! We did the Ladder tour with Adam. It was worth every penny. Adam is a super knowledgeable and entertaining guide. The cave was really cool.

I'm sorry it's been a couple of weeks since we took this tour - so I'm not sure of our guide's name - my husband thinks it was Eric. He was so knowledgeable and entertaining! Just don't tell him you are from Michigan unless you want to be ribbed the rest of the tour! The Cave was pretty amazing! We loved it!

We've been to lots of caves. Colossal Cave is now one of our favorites. Our group included 8 people: 4 senior citizens in their 70's, 2 younger adults, and the younger adults' children, (a boy 10 years old and a girl 5 years old.) Everyone enjoyed the trip. There are lots of steps to climb and descend. The steps were built in the 1930s by the CCC, but they felt safe enough. We wore tennis shoes, and we all felt safe walking on the sometimes narrow stairways and paths. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and pleasant, with a good sense of humor, and other staff members were very welcoming. And most important of all to us, Colossal Cave was fascinating. It has been vandalized a little, and there is some damage to formations, but that was, from our point of view, just part of the cave's history. And the history is a good story. It was well worth the trip.

Matt was exceptional as our tour guide. Explained everything in the mine thoroughly and in a fun way. You can tell Matt truly loves everything about the cave and preservation. Do yourself a favor and check this place out!!!

This turned out to be the highlight of our trip! We were originally planning on Kartchner Caverns but the time I was planning on, wasn't available. After learning about Colossal, I thought we would give this one a go and I'm so glad we did. It was incredible and they allow photos (unlike KC). I totally get being in the moment but with my aging memory, photos are necessary imo - but photos won't really do what you see in person total justice. Another plus was it was less expensive than KC and even though I booked us on a later tour, we arrived early and they were able to accommodate us for an earlier tour. They also have a little cafe that was very reasonably priced for a quick lunch. The park is beautiful and you can even take a nice hike before or after on their trails. Oh, and almost forgot, our tour guide was Del and in addition to sharing some great cave info - he also has nice hair... ;-)

Absolutely amazing - tour guide was so knowledgable and helpful - he was a pleasure to listen to. The caves were spectacular and the visitor centre had a great selection of gifts and food. Definitely worth it - just don't listen to your GPS - follow the signs once you get to the gate or GPS will take you on a harrowing tour of the camp-grounds - ask me how I know - lol :)

Our guide Arik was great, he told lots of jokes and stories. One particular story was about a wild cat that he had to fight off to save some tour guest while narrowly escaping. Thanks to his heroics no one was harmed. This was a wonderful part of my visit to Tucson and I highly recommend this place.
