Established in 1999, Encounters With Dolphins has been safely providing guests the opportunity to view dolphins, learn about Clearwater and enjoy the sand and sun on Compass Island and maybe even take a dip on the island! We are a small business founded on the principal of wanting our guests to have the same experiences we would want to have on our own vacation. We’re also proud of the fact that almost all of our staff are either marine biologist, conservationist or experts in marine wildlife. All of us work tirelessly to ensure that all of our customers have an enjoyable and relaxing time with us!

What To Expect
Come join us on a fun filled, narrated sightseeing tour of Clearwater’s harbor. Enjoy a relaxing ride while you learn about our abundant wildlife, and view the area’s dolphins in their natural environment. Every trip stops at Compass Island where you can collect shells, swim and the kids can even hunt for treasure! Excursions depart from the Clearwater Beach Marina multiple times every day. Spend an hour and a half to an hour and forty five minutes with our highly trained crew in the Clearwater Harbor on board our brand new 40 foot Coast Guard inspected excursion boat. For twenty to thirty minutes during your trip, the boat will stop at Compass Island where you will have the opportunity to shell hunt through thousands of shells, swim and enjoy the island.

4.00Very happy with this tour group. The people were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. While we didn’t see dolphins, we did enjoy a great time on the ocean see g the sights and learning fun facts about the area. The staff was friendly and fun. If you are traveling with kids who dream of finding a giant seashell, they will sell you one for a very reasonable price and help you smuggle it to a sandbar where the group disembarks for such a purpose. Highly recommend the extra effort. My 9 year old grandaughter is still raving about her treasures. No dolphins also means a free excursion on another trip. So nice to find a company that isn’t just out to take us. It seems everything else in that area was from $30 parking spots just to eat at a restaurant to $70 per hour golf carts (that needed a $30) parking spot every time you stopped- this company was a great value.

5.00My husband and I truly enjoy our travel experience on Encounter with the Dolphins Tour. We had a 11am departure time and were raini with overcast. We were concerned that the trip would be cancelled. The Encounter Team were very helpful in keeping us abreast of weather and they made every effort to monitor weather and when it was safe we were able to travel safely as scheduled had a great experience .

5.00The captain is an experienced driver and so good about making that extra effort so we can see dolphins or other marine life. Very very kid friendly. This is our second time going and my granddaughter loves going to the island and looking for treasure! Just a wonderful experience all around. Highly recommend it!
