Climb Japan’s iconic Mt. Fuji with an English‑speaking, Fuji‑specialist mountain guide and a tour conductor for smooth logistics from Tokyo. Begin at the 5th Station with a relaxing lunch and built‑in acclimatization time, then make a steady ascent on the Yoshida Route to an 8th Station mountain hut for dinner and a proper night’s rest—no night hiking required. At dawn, greet the sunrise from near the hut, then continue to the Yoshida‑guchi summit rim to savor panoramic crater views before descending. After the climb, choose your ideal finish: unwind in a Yamanakako hot spring or visit Oshino Hakkai’s crystal‑clear spring ponds fed by Fuji’s meltwater. This is a shared group tour designed for comfort, safety, and success on Japan’s highest mountain.

Mt. Fuji 5th Station
After meeting your tour conductor, you will take a comfortable bus to the Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station, the classic starting point of the Yoshida Route. Expect to arrive by late morning, when the air is crisp and views often stretch across the foothills below. Your team arranges a half‑buffet lunch at Fujikyu Unjokaku and builds in acclimatization time so your body can adjust comfortably before you begin walking higher. This is the moment to confirm boots and layers, top up water and snacks, and listen to a simple route briefing from your English‑speaking Fuji specialist guide. You’ll learn what to expect on the terrain, how your pace will be managed for safety and success, and how the group will communicate on the trail. With spirits high and gear set, you step onto Japan’s most storied mountain.
From the 5th Station you begin a gentle, well‑paced ascent led by your guide, who balances progress with frequent short breaks to keep everyone comfortable and alert. The trail transitions from wide cinder paths to more rugged steps and occasional rockier sections, always on a clearly marked route with mountain huts at intervals. As you gain height, vegetation thins and the views open, revealing the Fuji foothills and distant ridgelines. You will reach your 8th Station mountain hut—Taishikan or Horaikan, around 5:30-7 PM—where a hot dinner and a welcoming team await. You settle into a tidy shared room, charge devices where possible, and prepare your pack for the morning. A key advantage of this program: you do not hike at night. Instead, you rest properly so your body can recover and adjust, giving you the best chance at a strong summit day after dawn.
BREAKFAST
Breakfast
Boxed breakfast at the mountain hut
Before setting off, you step outside the hut to greet the sunrise over a sea of clouds—an unforgettable highlight that many travelers treasure for years. In the morning light, around 5-5:30 AM your guide leads the group upward toward the Yoshida‑guchi summit rim. The final stretch is slower and more deliberate, with switchbacks and short rocky pitches. Your guide sets a calm, steady rhythm and checks on participants frequently, helping you manage breathing, hydration, and warm layers as the air cools with altitude. Reaching the rim, you take in vast crater views and the immense sense of place that defines Mt. Fuji. Please note this tour does not proceed to Kengamine (3,776 m), the highest point on the opposite side of the crater; instead, you enjoy ample time to celebrate, photograph, and reflect at the Yoshida‑side rim before beginning a careful descent on the designated path back to the 5th Station.
Mt. Fuji 5th Station
After returning to the Mt. Fuji 5th Station around 2–3 PM, you choose how to close your Fuji adventure from two available options. You can also make your selection on the tour day with your guide and tour conductor.
Lake Yamanaka
Option 1: Unwind with a soothing soak at a Yamanakako hot spring, the perfect way to ease tired legs after your summit success. Relax in warm mineral waters, refresh in the changing areas, and reset before the coach ride back to Tokyo. Towels are available for rent or purchase on site and are paid individually. Please note that tattoo policies may restrict entry depending on the facility’s rules.
Oshino Hakkai
Option 2: Prefer sightseeing to soaking? Visit Oshino Hakkai, a charming village with crystal‑clear spring ponds fed by Mt. Fuji’s snowmelt filtering through volcanic rock. Stroll wooden bridges and pathways, enjoy classic Fuji scenery, and browse small local shops for snacks or souvenirs. It’s a gentle, scenic cool‑down before the return journey. After your chosen option, rejoin the coach for a smooth return to Shinjuku around 7:30 PM and Ueno around 8 PM.
