Come enjoy the wondrous glow of bioluminescence during the summer months in the famous Indian River Lagoon, a National Marine Estuary. These tours are easy and fun for all ages over 6. The inshore bayside waters of the lagoon offer calm waters for us to paddle on, where we have both single and 2-person kayaks for you to enjoy. All bioluminescent evening tours are fully guided, all you have to do is show up at our park location on the water where there is safe parking, restrooms, etc.

We expect all adult guests to possess entry-level paddling skills. There will not be a paddling "lesson" provided on this tour.
Any kids that disrupt the tour may result in an escort back to the launch site where your group's tour will be terminated. We do not interrupt other guests enjoyment over a fussy kid.

What To Expect
Tours are typically out of Banana River Park, a waterfront park with ideal bioluminescence viewing in the evening, and very convenient access to the major highways in and out of town. All tours start at twilight and last for 1.5hrs. Afterwards, some enjoy swimming around in the water. We have a very easy beach-style launch area, so walking into and out of the water is no problem at all. We provide everything including the kayaks of your choice, paddles, life vests, and glow sticks. Things you can bring include bottled water, headlamp or small flashlight, and a towel to wipe off with afterwards. These tours are about fun, we all enjoy ourselves. It is not a high stress environment, rather it is relaxed, casual, and flexible. This is a marine environment, the water is salty. It is relatively shallow and the water is safe to swim in. There are no alligators, no threatening critters of any kind. If you wish to bring anything at all for your protection, a pair of water shoes for walking into and around the shoreline is all we would suggest, The guides are typically barefoot though.

4.00Chase was excellent. Very knowledgeable and personable . We did the night bioluminescent kayak tour and it was great. Glowing jellyfish and bioluminescent microorganisms....very cool. Drove two hours to get here and it was worth it. Again Chase's enthusiasm was a big factor.

4.00It was really fantastic to nighttime kayak at Cocoa Beach. Knowing that you’re kayaking over a nursery of so much sea life variety is mind blowing. The bioluminescence was the icing on the cake.

5.00We had such a great time! My friend had never kayaked and they were so patient. They showed us jelly fish and we got to hold them while they were lighting up in our hands! The water droplets looked like diamonds on our hands. Every stroke of the paddle lit up the water. Our tour guides were extremely knowledgeable about the birds on the island, they explained bioluminescence and showed us how to see it with a net, hands, and look for jumping fish lighting up the water. We had a dolphin come up right next to us and saw others a few feet away. Must do — experience is not required!!!

5.00We booked this kayaking tour based on a recommendation from our rental company. Mark and Eric took our family of 6 (3 couples) out right at sunset. First, Mark and Eric are delightful. Both had a lot of knowledge about the area, the animals, river etc. They were very patient with us as we got our bearings kayaking. The sunset was so amazing and we did get to see the bio in the water. That was such a cool experience. The comb jellies were neat and watching the fish dart around us like fireworks was something we had not experienced before. Even our paddles glowed blue when in the water. I would definitely do this again if we are back in Cape Canaveral/Cocoa Beach. It was a beautiful night.

5.00Most of our family had no experience with Kayaking and it was still a great experience. Our two guides were amazing and gave a great tour of what we were seeing and explaining the bioluminescent plankton. The weather was a bit sketchy but calmed down quickly and we had a blast. Highly recommend the tour. When you see the fish swimming in the Bioluminescence, it will amaze you.

5.00Kayaking at night? As a beginner kayaker, I was definitely a little hesitant. Didn't quite know what to expect. But my guide was great and the bioluminescence was amazing as well as the starlit night. We even saw a shooting star and dolphins swimming around us. A bucket list experience for sure!

5.00Frank was an amazing guide!!! We had some weather coming in when we arrived. The conditions were not great so he was willing to wait it out and update us as the night went on. Even though our scheduled time was pushed back we had an amazing time once every thing settled down. Bird Island was amazing to go around. You could see all the fish light up under the water as they swim away from us. It was an amazing experience and I would recommend this adventure to anyone coming to the area!! 5 Stars!
