Our special access tour will let you enter the Colosseum through the 'Gate of Life' walking directly onto the arena floor, just as the gladiators did centuries ago. Once inside, feel the sand under your feet, experience the grandeur of the arena from a gladiator’s perspective and get an up-close view of the underground. Your expert tour guide will bring to life the exciting and shocking events that took place where you now stand, as you wander through arches and climb ancient stone steps, in this magnificent amphitheater.

Tours will run rain or shine (unless the monument is closed by the officials for safety reasons)
There are mandatory security checks at all entry points to the sites. The wait time for the security check can be considerable during peak times/seasons and has nothing to do with the ticket line
Toilets are limited, use the toilet before arriving for the tour. (Breaks made when possible)
No weapons (pocket knives), glass bottles or large backpacks
Refunds will not be provided for no-shows or late arrivals. If you are late to the meeting point, you will not be able to join your tour.
Each traveler must present a valid passport or ID document that matches the name provided at the time of booking for successful entry to the Colosseum and Roman Forum.
The itinerary may vary, the tour may start at either the Colosseum or the Roman Forum.

4.00Well organised,great tour guide,he was very informative,we had times to use the toilet as well as refill our water bottles. We arrived on time for our Colosseum slot and went straight in,the only disappointment was the Colosseum wasn’t guided like the ticket stated.
Poor management of tour. Tour canceled without prior notice.

1.00This excursion was canceled by Viator without prior notice to start time. We were there 30 minutes prior to tour start time and checked in but no warning that tour was canceled. We asked what the delayed was but were assured everything was okay and just a little delayed. We waited for over an hour before someone came and told us it was canceled. Waiting for a refund for 8 people.

4.00The whole experience was amazing. Was able to listen to the tour on downloaded content. We did not have a guide so was able to bimble along at our own pace. It was 32 degrees, there were lots of people about and lots of walking. Wear comfortable shoes. Make sure you book to fast track the queue.

1.00We had a horrible experience with this booking. We met up with a person who checked our booking info. The booking was 8:30 am but he told us that the Colloseum entry time is 10:45am. Without explaining anything else, he asked us to enter the area and we were on our own. Being tourists, we didn’t even know where to find him for the 10:44 am Colloseum tour. We just went to the Colloseum at that time. The booking was like a scam. Find something else. Pls don’t waste your money with this group.

2.00Booked for 8.30am due to having a younger child and wanting to avoid the midday sun. It got moved to 12.30. Arrived at the meeting point and it was chaos. Didn’t get check in properly and then got told to go and find our guide having been given just his name. There were a lot of groups and this was very difficult. We then got told off by the guide for being late. The tour itself was good and the guide was good once he calmed down. The check in process and allocation of guides was very badly disorganised and did cause of lot of unnecessary stress. The change in times was also disappointing after paying so much and selecting a morning time

2.00I am letting you know that you should not recommend this tour to any other clients. As you are aware, our tour was changed from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. We arrived at our designated meeting spot twenty minutes early as directed by the itinerary. Our tour start time came and went. Apparently, our tour guide cancelled, and we were without a guide. Around 12:45 the tour operator finally had our group join another group so we could get our tour started. The guide gave us paper tickets for the Forum and Colosseum. Our time for entry into Colosseum on the tickets was 1:30 with arrival time at 1:15. We walked with the tour guide to the entry of the Forum and went through security. My son was last in line. He had his ticket in his pocket (which had already been scanned), Security made him take the ticket out of his pocket and put it on the conveyor belt at security. The ticket was not there when my son got through security. He told the tour guide, and she told him to check his pocket for his ticket. He explained to the guide what security made him do, and she said somebody must have taken his ticket, or he needed to check His pockets. So started the conversation again about my son putting his ticket on the conveyor belt as instructed by security, and the ticket not being there when he came through security. The actual tour of the Forum started around 12:50. After a rushed and short tour of part of the Forum, the tour guide dropped us at the exit of the Forum at 1:15 so we would not miss getting to the colosseum. The tour guide said to us: “You all can go to get in, except you (pointing to my son), because you don’t have a ticket. Then she left us and went on to finish her tour with her group. We tired to get my son into the colosseum, but he was denied entry. We explained what happened to security, but they would not let him in. So, not only did we miss over 1/2 of the forum tour and Palatine Hill, my son missed all of the Colosseum experience. We also didn’t get any of the Colosseum history before going inside, as our tour guide continued with her group and just pointed out how to get to the Colosseum. We received zero assistance in getting my son a new ticket so he could enter the Colosseum. We were told by our tour guide that guides were no longer allowed to enter the Colosseum, but once we got there, we noticed there were a lot of guides in the Colosseum. When we asked one of the tour guides inside why our guide said they could not come inside, her reply was "it was because they were not licensed." What a disappointing day. I am still waiting to see if we get any kind of refund. It hasn't been really clear who I need to send my complaint to.

2.00Do NOT book if you want to see the Colosseum. Told the day before they would not be able to go in the colosseum & would get a 30% discount. No response from the company in regards to the discount. Finally went through Viator to get a refund & it was granted. A huge waste of time if you’re going on a tour to see the inside of the colosseum.
