Our special access tour will let you enter the Colosseum through the 'Gate of Life' walking directly onto the arena floor, just as the gladiators did centuries ago. Once inside, feel the sand under your feet, experience the grandeur of the arena from a gladiator’s perspective and get an up-close view of the underground. Your expert tour guide will bring to life the exciting and shocking events that took place where you now stand, as you wander through arches and climb ancient stone steps, in this magnificent amphitheater.

Tours will run rain or shine (unless the monument is closed by the officials for safety reasons)
There are mandatory security checks at all entry points to the sites. The wait time for the security check can be considerable during peak times/seasons and has nothing to do with the ticket line
Toilets are limited, use the toilet before arriving for the tour. (Breaks made when possible)
No weapons (pocket knives), glass bottles or large backpacks
Refunds will not be provided for no-shows or late arrivals. If you are late to the meeting point, you will not be able to join your tour.
Each traveler must present a valid passport or ID document that matches the name provided at the time of booking for successful entry to the Colosseum and Roman Forum.

1.00Stay away from this company. We booked our tour with this organisation through GetYourGuide. We booked on 27/10, to have the tour on 29/10. Within the hour after receiving a booking confirmation, we got a message from the organiser that there was 'a technical error' with their platform and that they wouldn't be able to organise the tour on 29/10 as usual. They requested us to cancel the booking with a full refund. Normally cancellation within that time period would only refund us 25% due to the date being close to the date of the actual tour. However, since they requested to cancel, they 'guaranteed' a 100% refund. They mention refunds could take 5-7 business days. Within 3 days, we got our 25% back, but not word of the other 75%. After waiting the full time period of 5-7 days, we took contact with the organiser. Communication was close to impossible and if any at all, no actual information on the refund was provided. So to sum it up, quality tours is not this organisations business model, baiting people in booking and the asking for a late time cancellation unfortunately is.

5.00Well paced overview of the various sites hosted by a knowledgeable live guide. Our guide was also thoughtful to be clear about any potential challenges navigating the many stairs of the Colosseum, the hills leading into and out of the Forum and also Palatine Hill.

5.00The tour was excellent. Maura is very knowledgeable about Roman history, and did an excellent job of navigating our group through security and around the attractions. Her English was easy to understand, and her explanations of what we were seeing very clear. Maura's explanations of how the Collosseum was operated, Roman society, and the life of the gladiators were defining moments. This is authoritative history, not the fictional narrative created by movies.

2.00Not recommended. We paid 70 euros per person for a live guided tour (2.5 hours) around roman forum, pallatino Hill and colosseum Arena. Although our guide did his best to squeeze all 3 sights into the programme, we hardly visited the Roman forum and almost skip the Palatine Hill. Better go for a live guided tour around colosseum, take your time there and do the rest of the sightseeings on your own, because they don't deliver what you pay for.
