Basilica de la Sagrada Familia
With tall spires that seem to defy gravity, countless figures from both the human and natural world, the facades of Gaudí’s most ambitious project impressive and astound millions of visitors per year. Today, it’s the most visited building in Spain. Your English-speaking local guide, an expert in all things Gaudí, will share insider stories and anecdotes throughout your tour, truly bringing this iconic building to life. With “skip the line” access you will be whisked past the long entrance lines and straight into the heart of the Basilica. You’ll feel as though you have stepped into an alternate universe. Step through a heavy set of doors covered in hand-carved vines and find yourself beneath rows and rows of tree-like pillars that seem to reach up all the way to the heavens. Construction is famously ongoing and not estimated to be completed until 2026, and witnessing the this work-in-progress make us feel like we're part of history in the making.
Park Guell
Meet your guide at Park Güell, another of Gaudí’s most famous works. The architectural design of Park Güell is perhaps the truest testament to Gaudí’s love of and obsession with nature. The bright colors of his tile mosaics cover the walls, ceilings, and benches, with the well-recognized “El Drac” lizard statue being a must-have photo for any visitor. Marvel at the history and details of this wondrous outdoor masterpiece with your guide, then enjoy free time to take in the intricate designs and spectacular panoramic views of Barcelona on your own pace.

Guided tour of Park Guell really isn’t needed, it’d be more cost effective to walk around on your own. In hindsight, I would skip Park Guell all together. I’d recommend taking a taxi to the exact meeting point since walking there from the front entrance of the park (where the stairs are) is a TREK. The Sagrada Família tour was great. It was great to have a tour guide point out all the intricacies on the different facades of the church to understand their relevance and this would have been missed without a tour.

Very disappointed Parc Guell tour was to brief as we had to leave to make it on time to the Sagrada Familia. Should be better advertised. Tour guide at Parc Guell was not very informative. Sagrada tour guide, Isaac, was amazing. His joy for the basilica was engaging. Very informative and such fun. I would definitely do that tour again if I could have him.

Our English speaking tour guides Julie (Sagrada Família) and Marc (Park Güell) were both fabulous. They each were well prepared and full of excellent information and insight on the respective sites. City Wonders provided clear meetup instructions for both segments which was crucial given the busy areas and large crowds. We got into both sites without delay and the audio system kept us connected to our guides without any issues. For our “on own” commute between the two, we chose to do a short walk and then a direct bus ride (V19) which took us very close to the rear entrance near the Park Güell meeting point. No walking uphill which was helpful given the extensive walking done during the tours. I highly recommend this combined tour to see these magnificent landmarks.

Fabulous tour of a Barcelona city (and world!) treasure and our tour guide Julie was exceptional. The meet up instructions were clearly communicated and so necessary at this busy site. The audio system to share the dialogue and keep the group connected amidst the crowds was effective. Julie is a passionate guide and well prepared on the topic. I would highly recommend this tour if you’re interested in experiencing Família Sagrada.
