During the tour enjoy 6 wine tastings while admiring the astonishing landscapes and serenity of the Douro Valley, recognized as World Heritage Site by UNESCO, since 2001.
The guided visit to 2 different wine estates with tastings, a complete traditional lunch with Douro wines and a scenic 50 minutes cruise on the Douro River is included on this full package.

Your expert guide will collect you from your hotel/accommodation or meeting point and will drive you to the renown Douro region. On your way to the Douro, the guide will give you insights regarding the Portuguese history, development and cultural facts of portuguese heritage. Half Way through the drive to the Douro Region we will do a short stop for a coffee break.

5.00It was the highlight of our trip! We had Paulo for English language tour, who was amazing. Impressed by not only his driving skills but the amount of historical knowledge. We made two winery stops - one included lunch with a breathtaking view; boat cruise along the river was very nice; and we made a few stops for sightseeing. The wines were so good we bought bottles and most of the people we traveled with did as well (total of 6). Be prepared for all day traveling but would recommend this to anyone.

4.00Mixed feelings. First, the registration was actually quite smooth. Of note, you do need a phone with data to scan the QR code, which will give your bus number. The first stop (Amarante ) for us was not bad not good just ok. Very quick stop - not enough time to fully experience. However, the view of all the wineries along the way was breathtaking. We loved the Croft wineries. The on site guide provided great information. Second stop was river cruise was so so. Our guide did not come with us. We were trying to listen the a guide from another group. The last stop was meal/winery. The meal was great along with port sample explained by the staff. We went to the cellar for more sampling. The downfall for us was guide and the drive back. We figured out that our guide was fairly new so we give him the benefit of the doubt as he had minimal interaction with the group. Something that comes in time and experience. Koudos to our driver (Georges) as he had to find an alternate route to avoid a brush fire along the highway. He stayed calm and professional the entire drive back and kept us safe.

Miguel was our tour guide and was excellent. Was a Porto native and knew everything about the wine culture and history of the area. Loved this tour!

4.00Slimmy was a fun and knowledgeable tour guide! He explained things along the way and also created a playlist of our favorite songs. We were able to stop and get a bite to eat after about an hour into the bus ride. The first winery stop included a tour and a delicious lunch with a generous amount of wine and food . We also made a scenic stop along the way. The Douro river cruise was absolutely beautiful! Last, we stopped at Croft winery which included a tour and a tasting. The wines here were great! The white port wine was a surprise and very good! Both wineries did an excellent job with their tours! My only recommendation would be to double check if you book through Viator to make sure have correct meeting point and time. The link on the app brought us to the wrong location and the time to arrive was the departure time. The tour company really went out of their way to wait for us. That is the only reason I gave it 4 stars.
