Nyboders Mindestuer
If you are going to get to the heart of hygge, you need to go back in time. We begin our Hygge & Happiness tour near the characteristic yellow houses of Nyboder, a famed local district. Here you’ll meet and greet your native guide and your group for the day. Your native guide is a bona fide Copenhagener who is super excited to share their knowledge of Danish culture with you, as well as local historical secrets that you won’t find in any guidebooks! And because our tours are for small groups only, your guide has plenty of time to answer any questions you may have.
Copenhagen
Your tour takes you through the oldest parts of the city, where you experience hidden gems in the form of cobblestone-filled streets, timber-framed houses, and green refuges of calm amongst the urban sprawl. Krusemyntegade is one of the cobblestone-filled streets that just scream hygge with that old world charm. It’s a great example of how hyggelig our city can be if you just take the time to wander.

Great experience with Oskur P. Great guide. Very informative and educational. Also fun. Only thing make sure the weather is good before booking. It rained in last hour of our tour.

Oskar P was a great guide! Gave us all the historical and juicy side notes about all the places we visited. The tour was 5 hours long but it didn’t feel long. We took in the history of the city and there were enough breaks in between to keep us fresh. The only downside was the last hour when it started to rain. However we still were able to finish it off. Would really recommend it, especially to start off your Copenhagen trip.

Our friendly local guide Oskar shared his knowledge of Copenhagen and Denmark and the backstories and details that really brought it all to life as we walked around central Copenhagen. We also gained insight into the lovely Danish lifestyle concept of “Hygge” (eg cosiness). We enjoyed excellent coffee and a local pastry in the morning at a bakery and a delicious traditional open-faced sandwich for lunch. Our 5-hour day flew by. Highly recommended.

This tour was the highlight of our trip. Our guide, Oskar, an accomplished historian with a formidable command of history, literature, and architecture, brought Copenhagen to life. Every street, square, and hidden corner came with a story, woven together with insight, humor, and a deep appreciation for the city’s cultural heritage. The pacing was perfect, blending iconic landmarks with lesser-known gems. We especially loved how our guide connected Danish history to the broader Scandinavian and European context, making each stop meaningful and memorable. The included bakery treat and lunch were delicious, well-chosen, and a chance to keep the conversation going. If you’re visiting Copenhagen and want to understand the city, this walking tour is a must. Thank you, Oskar!

I had a fabulous time with Sliz on a rainy October day. As a first timer to Copenhagen, I always like to get ‘the lay of the land’ from a local. He was engaging and attentive - always balancing history with modern day/practical knowledge. Lunch was a delightful surprise and a chance to get to know others on the trip. The tour was just long enough - I was able to glean a number of ideas/places to visit to help enhance my trip. I’d 100% recommend this tour to others.

Oskar had detailed knowledge of the history of Copenhagen and shared this, and his local knowledge of the city, us in an informal and entertaining way. Oskar provided a comprehensive tour of the city and we enjoyed experiencing a wide range of attractions. It was such an enjoyable tour and the time flew by. We have been travelling and visiting cities for many years and Oskar is by far the best guide we have experienced.

Such a wonderful tour with Peter (I know that is not his Danish spelling!). He was charming, engaging and gave us a wonderful introduction to Copenhagen - covering history, current events and food highlights! It was a small group - 6 of us - so we got to chat with each other as well. A delightful day - highly, highly recommend!
