My husband and I were booked with Carlos through our hotel stay at Drake Bay Greenleaf (Also highly recommend). They highly recommended Carlos for our private overnight stay at Sirena Station. Carlos was a wealth of information. We not only learned about all the wildlife, but more importantly, we learned about the jungle and how it adapts/forms to provide for the animals that live there. He is a botanist and has a passion for what he does. He was able to locate animals just by understanding how the jungle works through primary and secondary forest. We hiked with him for hours both days and felt safe the whole time. He made sure to take good care of us! We saw all four species of monkeys, so many different birds, trees, plants and wildlife. We really enjoyed our time with him!

I highly recommend this tour! We were very lucky to have Carlos as our guide, he is truly one of the best guides we’ve ever met. He has a big “green” heart, is very open-minded, and brings such positive energy to the experience. Carlos is an experienced naturalist, very knowledgeable and professional, and you can clearly feel his deep passion for nature in everything he shares. He answered all our questions in a very engaging and interesting way. We did a two-day hiking tour with an overnight stay at a lovely jungle camp, and it was an unforgettable experience. On the first day, we reached the park by boat and then went on a morning walk, where we saw many beautiful and fascinating creatures. Carlos shared a wealth of insights about the wildlife, the ecosystem, the history of the area, and Costa Rica in general. What stood out the most was his deep respect for nature and every living creature. He also prioritises safety and follows high standards, which made us feel completely comfortable and in good hands. It was truly a privilege to learn from him, share his passion, and connect with the local nature on such a deep level. We are very grateful for this experience. Thank you Carlos from the bottom of our hearts and we wish you all the best! We highly recommend this tour 💚 On the first day, we arrived by boat, and on the second day, we hiked out through the jungle. The first day was more like walking and watching animals, and the second day was more athletic focus. The next time I’d do boat in/out. Our guide, Jenkins, was very knowledgeable and shared many interesting facts about the plants, animals, and local history along the way. He also does an amazing job collecting plastic and trash that washes in from the ocean, which deserves a lot of respect and appreciation. Sadly, during the hike out, we saw quite a lot of plastic and trash along the coastline. It truly doesn’t belong in such a beautiful and wild natural place. In general, I think it would be great to attract volunteers on a regular basis, because unfortunately the trash keeps arriving from other places with the ocean currents. Protecting places like this is such an important mission for all of us 💚

We booked the two-day tour with hike (about 21 km) to and overnight stay at Sirena Station at Corcovado Wild Tours. Booking went absolutely uncomplicated via WhatsApp. All queries were answered within minutes. We paid half of the price by Paypal and received an official booking confirmation as PDF within a short time. This also contained all important information regarding the process and equipment. Nevertheless, additional questions could be asked at any time. We were asked to appear in person at the organizer's office the day before. Here was a brief discussion of the process and payment of the remaining price. The tour started well organized the next morning at 5.20 am. Here we met our guide and introduced ourselves to each other. This was followed by a drive to the starting point of the hike. This began a few kilometers before Leona Station. There were also toilets and fresh water here. Registration in the national park was done in advance by the organizer, so you did not have to worry about it. The hike in the national park did not have many vertical meters overall, but nevertheless it requires good basic fitness and partly also sure-footedness due to the ground, the length and also short climbs. Our guide Jhon has adapted to our pace. On the one hand, I felt pleasantly challenged in terms of sport, on the other hand, there was enough time to enjoy the unique landscape and wildlife. There was also opportunity for sufficient breaks (food for the hike should be brought by yourself). We arrived at Sirena Station after a total of 6 hours and 45 minutes of hiking. This consisted of virgin forest and beach sections. At the Sirena station and also in time beforehand, the guide explained the process there and a few rules on site and offered to be always ready for questions. On site he has everything arranged for us and made the stay extremely pleasant. The Sirena Station has an organized schedule and offers (especially considering the location in the jungle) cleanliness, comfort and very good, typical food. Meals (dinner and breakfast included drinks) were included in the provider's price. The next morning our guide Jhon offered us various (overall shorter) hikes and showed us an overwhelming number of animals to which he could present good expertise thanks to his incredibly good expertise. He was keen to demonstrate the local flora and fauna, always taking care to disturb the animals as little as possible. Thanks to its technical equipment (binoculars/spotting scope), the animals were still visually very close. In addition, he was also able to warn of relevant dangers (snakes, spiders, plants) that a primeval forest holds. Both hikes on the second day were optional and could be individually coordinated with the guide. In summary, this tour was an overwhelming experience that left a lasting impression and great respect for the jungle. Jhon was the best guide I could have imagined. He knew the area and obviously had great interest in the diversity of the jungle. Thank you Jhon!
