Coronado Island in Loreto Baja California Sur, Mexico is home to great snorkel spots, white sand beaches, and a sea lion colony. It’s the most visited due to its close proximity to Loreto. COME AND JOIN US with a professional guide who knows the history and wildlife! A paradise for snorkelers, the turquoise waters around the island offer outstanding visibility, especially for those wishing to explore the sea bottom. The island itself is covered with rocky crags, except for the southeast corner, and becomes a marine turtle sanctuary at certain times of the year when the females come to the beaches to lay their eggs. If you prefer to stroll around the island instead of relaxing under a beach “palapa,” you can find numerous examples of local animals and plants. Very nice ride, and had exceptional experience with dozens of dolphins playing with the boat!!! Stopping at the gorgeous Coronado Islands wonderful!

Yesterday I went on a group tour around Coronado Island with Wild Loreto. The whole trip was relaxing and beautiful, but the absolute thrill for me was watching dolphins playing in the wake of our boat--incredible. El capitán knew how to drive the boat so the dolphins would join the fun. Our guides were capable, super friendly, and knowledgeable. Highly recommended. Also, I was on my own, and they allowed me to book as a single traveler, along with 4 couples who had booked together. Other tours would only allow bookings for 2 adults, which is unfair to solo travelers.

They may let you know late afternoon the day before that you have no trip. That’s what they did to me only I didn’t get their email until I’m waiting for them to pick me up at 9 AM. Very unreliable tour operator!

WildLoreto is great to work with. My second trip with them. Responsible! Well-organized! No Worries!!! Staff txts and calls to ensure pickup time, location. Drivers, boat captains, email staff etc are polite and helpful. Boat captains follow best practices re: regulations abt safe distances from whales and other marine life. Captain Abraham and group kindly helped me get in and out of boat despite shoulder problems and overweight.

Coronado was beautiful. Our guide was Christopher and he was friendly and knowledgeable and while we weren’t too lucky with seeing dolphins or that many blue footed boobies, we saw plenty of seals. We didn’t snorkel cause it was pretty chilly without a wetsuit, but it was fun to walk around the island and wade around knee deep in the very blue water. It was easy to spot some small fish even at that depth. The boat ride was easy and the boat was nice and clean and comfortable. I just wish the lunch was better than a very basic one slice of ham and American cheese sandwich with chips and Kellogg bar. But they did supply beer, water, and soft drinks. Oh and there is a big decent outhouse style toilet (BYO TP) on the island they forget to tell you about til you get there.

The tour was cancelled late the evening before . We had booked another night in Loreto . We were also visiting a place in the mountains that had no internet when the company tried to contact us . They didn’t try to make other plans or merge us with another tour .

Coronado is beautiful. I did feel that the half day trip was a bit pricey ($95 US pp plus 16 for park fee).

Snorkeling tour and guide were fine. Not exceptional…just okay. Wild Loreto will make every effort to make additional money whether through exchanges rates or extra charges that are not advertised or called out during the booking. I would recommend staying away from this company. Unfortunately I booked two different tours with them. I wanted to give them a benefit of a doubt. Similar situation with the second tour.

Wonderful experience start to finish, from the air conditioned van that picked us up at our hotel to the amazing captain Carlos who really outdid himself making sure we all had the best time. Lifetime memory making with my 6 yo!

Our experience with wild tour was magnificent, from the initial attention with Jared, to the services of Captain Argenis, very friendly, hygienic, respect for nature, comfort since they took us the beach kit, the truth is that other tourists envied us, they thought we were carrying everything, and really they provided us in detail the tools that are required for an amazing day at the beach. I emphasize that the wild tour team loves their land, takes care of it and allows everyone to enjoy, their idea is to take care of the islands so they can continue with responsible tourism.
