City and Wine
Visit 2 or 3 artisan, family owned Hungarian winery at the country-side near Budapest. You will meet the winemakers and they will not only present their best wines, but you will be served with home made meal and/or traditional Hungarian flavored bites, depending the option you select. Taste 6-12 glasses wine in total and indulge the best tastes in a genuine Hungarian country-side environment. The Morning tour option offers you a quick journey to the countryside, with the tasting of 8 glasses of wine and completing your experience with a delicious home made Lunch. The Afternoon tour with Dinner option is a full-scale wine and meal experience in the countryside with 12 glasses of wine and a home-made Dinner. The Gastro-Bites with Wine tour offers a nice afternoon excursion to the Wine region where the focus is on showing the unique flavors of the Hungarian kitchen, with home made pate, sausage and many more, accompanied with 6 glassses of quality wine.

5.00Fantastic tour of the the beautiful wine country outside of Budapest! Our guide, Juliana, was very knowledgeable and interesting. We were lucky that there was only 4 in our group so it felt more like a private tour. Tasty wines and the meal at the end was delicious. I would highly recommend.

5.00I am sharing from my my travelling letter: “ Sixteen Wines and Four Americans One of the highlights of our trip was the wine tour into the countryside. We were picked up by Susan, who served as both driver and guide. At the next stop, the remaining participants joined us: four Americans. They were perfectly pleasant company and, at the same time, lived up to every stereotype we had, with enthusiastic exclamations of “Wow!” and “Fantastic!” whenever Susan talked about the wines, the landscape, or Hungarian history. We visited three different wineries and sampled a total of sixteen wines from small local producers. That may sound a bit excessive, but fortunately the glasses were not very large. Even so, it was easy to notice that the mood in the group rose in step with the number of tastings. At the final winery, we were served a hearty venison stew with Hungarian pasta. That was probably a wise decision on the part of the tour operator. And not least, City & Wine Tours drove us all the way back to our hotel afterwards. We appreciated that very much. 🍷😊

5.00It was a delight to experience small batch wine making! All of the venues were superb! We mostly had white wines, a few with a twist but enjoyable. The sparkling wine by far was the best since this region is very similar to Champagne France! The driver Susan provided a bit of a history lesson on the ride to the countryside. Our dinner was great as well!

5.00So, my husband and I were super hesitant to book another group tour in Hungary because our past ones weren't great. But oh my gosh, I am so glad we did this wine tour! From the prompt pickup to the final drop-off, everything was flawless. Our guide, Imre, painted a vivid picture of Hungary’s history as we traveled toward our first tastings. At Orosz Gyula and Nadas, the wine flowed generously, matched only by the warmth of the winemakers. The day culminated at Buzal Moroccza, where we dined on an enchanting patio, sharing laughs, incredible homey Hungarian food. We even had some adorable cats keeping us company! Combined with the seamless transportation provided by our driver, Balasz, this tour offers outstanding value and I highly recommend it. The journey back to Budapest was the perfect finale—a contented cabin singing along to familiar tunes as the twilight rolled in. A truly priceless day.
