We were staying in Georgia from up north and it seemed like everything we tried to do while down was affected by the shut down. So last minute I made reservations for the Craigcat boat tour. While out and about on Wednesday I received a text to call about our next day tour scheduled for 1015am. They were canceling and refunding/rescheduling due to weather concerns - it being too cold that morning as they didn't want it to be a bad experience for us which I can absolutely appreciate. I think Kristy could tell how bummed and generally frustrated I was that once again things weren't going as planned for my boyfriend and I. I let her know we know cold and were definitely okay with going out in the forecasted temps if they were willing. She told me she would check with the guides and see what they would say. Can I just say everyone we dealt with here was beyond amazing. They agreed to take us out, and omg, it was perfect. The weather was literally perfect in our opinion, we ended up being the only ones out which honestly was even better. Our guide was awesome, super knowledgeable about the area, between the sites we saw plus some restaurant recommendations in town. We got to see wild horses on Cumberland Island along with some of the ruins from the water (this was one of our planned adventures that was affected by the shut down so we were happy to at least step foot on the island), we also saw a gator, and many dolphin. I could go on and on, I'm really happy that they agreed to take us out, this truly made our vacation. Thank you, and we'll be back! Don't pass this one up!

Riding the Craigcat boats with Kyle as our guide was not only informational but also made for a fun and memorable experience. We saw gators, dolphins, eagles, wild horses, and pelicans.

We were so excited and looking forward to our CraigCat trip and we made memories, but not all the best kind! The weather did not cooperate (which is not the fault of anyone for sure). Our trip was moved up one day earlier than we had scheduled, but the wind and waves were still very significant and made things uncomfortable. The scheduler was very helpful when she asked if we could move a day earlier, and our guide, Captain Bill, was over the top informative, cheerful and helpful. He told us we would get wet, but wet feels different when the salt water is splashing over your head, into your eyes, and you are shivering by the time the tour is over. After riding through the whitecaps in the river for 15 minutes, our entire group was wishing Riptide had cancelled our trip as well. We were able to go into calm creek for about 45 minutes which was a nice respite from the constant waves and did give us time to warm up a bit, and that was the most enjoyable part of the trip. Captain Bill also found us a spot to show us a beautiful sunset, but we were more than ready to get back to the car and get warmed up. In retrospect, I wish the scheduler would have cancelled our trip or could have explained what the trip might be like if we went on a windy day. That being said, I guess you can never fully forecast the weather and how it will affect you!

This was definitely a highlight of our weekend trip to Amelia Island! Just a great experience all around… both fun & informative for our whole family! Highly recommend trying it out as we plan to return and do it again soon. Also recommend wearing sunscreen.

Had a wonderful time. The guide was knowledgeable and informative of the area. Safety reminder given. Waterproof box available to put electronics in was provided. I would have uploaded a few pictures but once we got to Cumberland Island, I took my phone out of the waterproof box to snap a few pictures and put it in my pocket. Yep, I forgot it was in my pocket and took a dip. Therefore, no pictures will be posted. Currently sitting in a bowl of rice, I'm afraid to plug it in.
