Cu Chi Tunnels
We depart Ho Chi Chi Minh City in the morning to visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, known for its role in the anti-American resistance during the Vietnam War and now seen as a symbol of heroism. With over 220 km of underground tunnels, it's a popular tourist attraction for both Vietnamese and foreign visitors. The scenic route from Ho Chi Minh City to Cu Chi passes through the local countryside, offering sights such as ducks and buffalo along the river. Despite its tranquil appearance today, it's hard to imagine the destruction caused by bombing and mines in the past, when Cu Chi was designated as a "free target zone."
My Tho
After investigating the tunnels, we'll head to My Tho, a province in the Mekong Delta region. We'll embark on a boat ride along the upper Mekong and witness the Four Animal Islands named after creatures in Buddhist lore: Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Turtle. On this portion of the tour, you'll get a glimpse of local Vietnamese life and how it is tied to the river. Later, we'll take you on a rowboat excursion through the narrow waterways, showcasing the fertile agriculture of the delta with its fruit orchards, coconut plantations, and beekeeping farms. During the tour, you'll have the opportunity to taste honey tea, seasonal fruits, fresh coconut candy, and enjoy southern Vietnamese folk music. Finally, we'll return to Ho Chi Minh City and drop you off at your hotel around 6:30 PM.

A great 1-day trip to visit both Cu Chi Tunnels & Mekong Delta. We had a fun guide named Bruno who showed us around and kept us entertained. Highly recommended.

Incredible tour of the Cu Chi tunnels and Mekong Delta with Captain Bruno creating a fulfilling day with unforgettable experiences. We learned so much about Vietnam war history and the culture of the delta, along with trying delicious treats along the way. We opted for the largest group option and still felt very well cared for and had a personalized experience. I definitely recommend this experience to any Ho Chi Minh tourist looking to fill their day with adventures, having Captain Bruno as a guide as well.

Amazing experience with Captain Bruno. We saw the tunnels and Mekong river. It was a beautiful and well made tour with lots of accommodations. There were many unexpected stops, like AK47 shooting range, bees, coconuts, boats, amazing free food. Bruno was very knowledgeable, kind, and funny. Well worth it.

Amazing experience, Captain Bruno was the best guide ever. Interesting cultural and historical experience, tunnels is a must do and you also have the chance to shoot real guns used in the war. Honey, fruits, coconut and lot of local food too.

The tour exceeded expectations. Small group and Tu, our tour guide, was so fantastic. Tu explained he studied history and it showed. It was important to him to not be biased in the retelling of the Vietnam war and had exclusive photos and personal anecdotes that made this experience more than myself or my partner ever expected it to be. We felt extremely grateful to be on the tour with Tu, when we caught what other guides were saying, you could tell we were not getting the typical, sensationalised touristy group experience. As for the tour overall and Mekong delta, it all ran very smoothly. The bus was comfortable and clean, the ferry to Mekong delta was super safe and sturdy, we didn’t know what to expect with this the island as we admittedly we didn’t look too far into it but it was a lot of fun. I loved trying different exotic fruits, seeing all the animals, watching the candy making process and the little boat ride at the end. A highlight of our trip for sure!

WOW!! Thank you Hannah & Indochina Heritage Travel for such an amazing experience. Myself & 2 friends decided to book this last minute with little research. We opted for the VIP private tour. Received confirmation once we booked & picked us up from our hotel in a private shuttle at the time requested. Drinks/snacks were provided & the van was comfy. Hannah was gave us the full experience of Cu Chi Tunnels & Mekong River. Thank you!!

Tu was a fantastic guide for this tour. He was a wealth of knowledge and shared a lot historical facts and dates regarding the Chu Chi tunnels, the Vietnam war and then information about the Mekong River. He has a family connection to the Chu Chi tunnels and shared stories from his grandmother’s time in the tunnels during the Vietnam war. Very special. He was friendly, funny, caring and very punctual. He moved us through at a good pace, even though the tunnels were packed full of tourists. Meaning we got back to HCMC by 7.30pm. Which is good! This tour fits in a lot, but we didn’t feel rushed. You experience history visiting the tunnels and witness a rich culture when visiting the Mekong River. I highly recommend this tour and hope you get a guide as good as Tu.
