Cu Chi Tunnels
We depart Ho Chi Chi Minh City in the morning to visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, known for its role in the anti-American resistance during the Vietnam War and now seen as a symbol of heroism. With over 220 km of underground tunnels, it's a popular tourist attraction for both Vietnamese and foreign visitors. The scenic route from Ho Chi Minh City to Cu Chi passes through the local countryside, offering sights such as ducks and buffalo along the river. Despite its tranquil appearance today, it's hard to imagine the destruction caused by bombing and mines in the past, when Cu Chi was designated as a "free target zone."
My Tho
After investigating the tunnels, we'll head to My Tho, a province in the Mekong Delta region. We'll embark on a boat ride along the upper Mekong and witness the Four Animal Islands named after creatures in Buddhist lore: Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Turtle. On this portion of the tour, you'll get a glimpse of local Vietnamese life and how it is tied to the river. Later, we'll take you on a rowboat excursion through the narrow waterways, showcasing the fertile agriculture of the delta with its fruit orchards, coconut plantations, and beekeeping farms. During the tour, you'll have the opportunity to taste honey tea, seasonal fruits, fresh coconut candy, and enjoy southern Vietnamese folk music. Finally, we'll return to Ho Chi Minh City and drop you off at your hotel around 6:30 PM.

Great experience to learn about the history and witness some of the real places like Chi Chi Tunnels. Mekong Delta boat experience was amazing! Our guide Sam was great and very knowledgeable. He always had a smile on his face which made this day tour a lot enjoyable. He spoke good English and explained everything we needed to know in detail.

Our guide loved history and gave us a lot of information about life in the tunnels. Some of the information came from his grandmother who lived in the tunnels. This was a good extension of visiting the War Remnants museum. Spend a long time travelling to the Mekong river for a short boat ride and visit to an island.

Great tour. This is probably the longest duration tour I've ever been on (drive time to and from destination, approximately 2 hours each way). Still had a lot of fun, saw the country side and got a lot of local history of the tunnels and the Mekong. Enjoyed the food on offer and loved coconut Island and the cobra rice wine.

Had a super time with Captain Bruno who kept us all entertained throughout the day. He was also very knowledgable and provided some excellent guidance on the history of the tunnels and Mekong Delta. What a long day it was particularly the travel time (6 hours in a car) but worth it. Fees were all included as well as lunch which catered for my gluten allergy. We also had the opportunity to try pure honey, coconut water and sweets, fruit and enjoyed traditional singing. I enjoyed the two boat rides one power boat and one paddle! I overcame my claustrophobia and went in the tunnels, not to be missed.
