What To Expect
Cu Chi Tunnels
We depart Ho Chi Chi Minh City in the morning to visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, known for its role in the anti-American resistance during the Vietnam War and now seen as a symbol of heroism. With over 220 km of underground tunnels, it's a popular tourist attraction for both Vietnamese and foreign visitors. The scenic route from Ho Chi Minh City to Cu Chi passes through the local countryside, offering sights such as ducks and buffalo along the river. Despite its tranquil appearance today, it's hard to imagine the destruction caused by bombing and mines in the past, when Cu Chi was designated as a "free target zone."
My Tho
After investigating the tunnels, we'll head to My Tho, a province in the Mekong Delta region. We'll embark on a boat ride along the upper Mekong and witness the Four Animal Islands named after creatures in Buddhist lore: Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Turtle. On this portion of the tour, you'll get a glimpse of local Vietnamese life and how it is tied to the river. Later, we'll take you on a rowboat excursion through the narrow waterways, showcasing the fertile agriculture of the delta with its fruit orchards, coconut plantations, and beekeeping farms. During the tour, you'll have the opportunity to taste honey tea, seasonal fruits, fresh coconut candy, and enjoy southern Vietnamese folk music. Finally, we'll return to Ho Chi Minh City and drop you off at your hotel around 6:30 PM.

5.00Toan was very knowledgeable and friendly and looked after all of us. Dat was a very good driver and believe me you need them over here. We done the full day Mekong river and tunnels trip as we thought it would cut down on the travelling if we went over two days. We were very well looked after with lots to see and do. There are small things we done that aren’t advertised which were a nice surprise. We booked our trip through booking. Com with a reasonable price

5.00Matthew was really nice as our tourguide and made the whole experience really enjoyable. During the drive he told us a lot about the history and culture, explaining things clearly and even using pictures, which made everything much more interesting. At the same time, he also gave us enough time during the ride to just relax, chill, or take a nap. During the Mekong Delta tour, it also felt much less touristy than expected. The group size was perfect — a small, comfortable group that made the whole experience feel more personal and relaxed.

He keeps the experience natural, engaging, and authentic while still sharing all the important history and cultural insights. The day felt relaxed and personal, almost like exploring Vietnam with a knowledgeable local friend rather than being on a rigid tour. His flexibility and passion for sharing his country really stood out. I highly recommend Mathew if you are looking for a great guide in Ho Chi Minh City for the Cu Chi Tunnels or the Mekong Delta.
