Cu Chi Tunnels
We depart Ho Chi Chi Minh City in the morning to visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, known for its role in the anti-American resistance during the Vietnam War and now seen as a symbol of heroism. With over 220 km of underground tunnels, it's a popular tourist attraction for both Vietnamese and foreign visitors. The scenic route from Ho Chi Minh City to Cu Chi passes through the local countryside, offering sights such as ducks and buffalo along the river. Despite its tranquil appearance today, it's hard to imagine the destruction caused by bombing and mines in the past, when Cu Chi was designated as a "free target zone."
My Tho
After investigating the tunnels, we'll head to My Tho, a province in the Mekong Delta region. We'll embark on a boat ride along the upper Mekong and witness the Four Animal Islands named after creatures in Buddhist lore: Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Turtle. On this portion of the tour, you'll get a glimpse of local Vietnamese life and how it is tied to the river. Later, we'll take you on a rowboat excursion through the narrow waterways, showcasing the fertile agriculture of the delta with its fruit orchards, coconut plantations, and beekeeping farms. During the tour, you'll have the opportunity to taste honey tea, seasonal fruits, fresh coconut candy, and enjoy southern Vietnamese folk music. Finally, we'll return to Ho Chi Minh City and drop you off at your hotel around 6:30 PM.

Matthew was the most enthusiastic guide one could ask for. He was meticulous in explaining all the minor details of history and geography of Vietnam landscape. Absolutely recommended.

We were very satisfied with this tour! We were a group of 10 people which makes everything more dinamic. Matthew was the best guide! While traveling to the Cu Chi tunnels he explained Vietnam history and culture, showing photos and giving personal anecdotes, which made the ride much more enjoyable. Once in the Cu Chi area he explained everything very competently, avoiding the crowds very strategically. He also made interaction between the participants easy and fun during the full trip. The visit of the Mekong Delta was the perfect ending of the trip, with nice activities, fruits tasting, traditional songs, candy factory and home made honey tasting.. We highly recomended this tour and Matthew as a guide.

The tour was enjoyable and informative. It was the best way to experience Cu Chi Tunnel and Mekong River. Captain Bruno was also very entertaining, making the car ride shorter than it was.

It came up recommended on Booking.com and I kind of booked it, but it was a better experience than I expected. It was an experience that I couldn't get just from sightseeing in the city. The guides were kind and cheerful, and I learned a lot from them, with knowledge ranging from historical to current Vietnam. The tour of the tunnel was especially surprising, and it was full of things I didn't know. It was also fun to cross the island and take a boat ride. The guides are in English, so if you don't understand English, you may not understand the content, but since the main activity is tours and experiences, if there is one person who can talk to you, I think it will be OK.
