What To Expect
Cu Chi Tunnels
We’ll pick you up at your Ho Chi Minh City hotel in the early morning, and you’ll travel with your English-speaking guide to the Cu Chi tunnels. The drive is around 60 km. At Cu Chi, you’ll be shown a documentary film about the tunnels and learn how the locals made bamboo traps, rice paper, and rice wine. You’ll then have the opportunity to explore the web of underground tunnels dug by Vietnamese resistance fighters.
My Tho
After exploring the tunnels, we’ll drive to My Tho. This is one of the provinces that comprise the Mekong Delta area. We’ll cruise by boat along the upper Mekong through a region with islands named after 4 animals that appear in Buddhist writings – Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Turtle. On this part of the tour, you’ll observe some of the activities of regional Vietnamese daily life and appreciate how life here depends on the River. We’ll then take you on a trip by rowboat along the small waterways. You’ll see the agricultural richness of the delta region in its fruit orchards, coconut groves, and bee-keeping farms. We’ll stop so you can enjoy honey tea, seasonal fruit, fresh coconut candy, and southern Vietnamese folk music. At the end of our tour, we’ll drive back to Ho Chi Minh City and drop you off at your hotel at around 18:00.

5.00We did a full-day tour of the Cu Chi Tunnels and the Mekong Delta with Toan, and he provided an excellent, well-informed experience. The information he shared was detailed and engaging, yet never overwhelming or intrusive to our enjoyment. The long drives from Saigon to the Cu Chi Tunnels and on to the Mekong Delta were made very pleasant thanks to the abundance of snacks and beverages Toan thoughtfully provided. He also took care of securing all entrance tickets and arranging lunch, which made the day completely seamless. I would highly recommend taking a tour with Toan — he is a pleasure to be with and provides great information throughout the experience.

5.00for starters, i thought the tour was quite affordable for allll the things that offered and insights it gave! we had a wonderful guide (emily) who was so knowledgeable, friendly and funny- she definitely made the experience so much more fun. it was a great well-balanced day with lots of visits to different sites, food tastings and experiences. i highly recommend it, especially if you’re someone who doesn’t have a lot of time but still wants a rich experience in the mekong delta!

5.00We did the combined tour of Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta, and it was a really rewarding experience from start to finish. The Cu Chi tunnels are impressive and provide a better understanding of Vietnamese history, soldiers’ lives and the incredible ingenuity developed during the war. It is both striking, informative and very well explained. The Mekong Delta then offers a total contrast: green landscapes, peaceful river, local villages and a much more relaxed atmosphere. It was very nice to discover this other facet of the country, more authentic and rural. A huge highlight of the tour: our guide Ni. She was really nice, smiling and passionate, with great explanations throughout the day. She took the time to answer all the questions, share interesting anecdotes and make the tour lively and accessible. Smooth organization, well-balanced pace, comfortable transport and very complete content. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to discover both Vietnamese history and the beauty of the Mekong in one day. Many thanks to Ni for this great experience!
