5.00We had originally booked to take a speedboat to the tunnels however the government issued a short term closure notice meaning that we got a private tour instead. The car was very clean and the driver was safe and attentive to the road condition. We were given crackers and water for the drive which took around 2 hours with one stop on the way and 1.5 hours on the way back into town. The tour guide, Bodhi, was very knowledgeable and spoke great English. He shared a lot of the history in the car and then elaborated on information while at the tunnel. We were offered two meal options for lunch back in Ho Cho Minh City, one was beef noodle soup and the other was for 'tourists'. We chose the beef noodle soup, it was average. The service was quick however the food was not that enjoyable - the beef soup was very rich and fatty but that could just be the style of the meal. Overall we had a great day.
