We really enjoyed our trip to the tunnels. We do the smaller luxury 9 person tour. Tinh was an excellent, knowledgeable guide who was very passionate. It was well organized and we felt we had enough time to see everything. You can elect to go into the tunnels or not if you are uncomfortable. There is a lot to see and learn without going into the tunnels so it’s worth going even if you don’t want to go inside the tunnels. On the way to the tunnels you stop off at a place where people who are disabled from agent orange make beautiful artwork. You learn the process of their artwork and can buy a piece but there is no pressure. It was very hot out at the tunnels and we brought are own water but there are places to buy cold drinks and snacks. We did apply bug spray but we didn’t see any mosquitoes. We took the van ride to the tunnels which gives you a chance to see where people really live and work outside the tourist areas. On the way back we upgraded to take the motor boat ride back which was a great change of scenery and I recommend it if they have spots available. I definitely recommend this tour.

Mr. Handsome or Mr. Phon (sorry for the misspelling) was wonderful. Thought us of the Vietnamese culture and the history in a respectful and factual way. He kept expectations clear, explaining what would happen through out the day, answered questions, and had a great demeanor. He also navigated a difficult situation with other tourists (without a guide) that were blocking the tunnel. He handled it respectfully. I recommend, it was crowded but our guide made the best effort to move us through the exhibits in an order that minimized waiting. I do think a group of 25 is too many people and would suggest people take the smaller tour.
