- We recommend starting early.
- The Cu Chi Tunnels attract visitors daily, becoming particularly congested on weekends and Vietnamese holidays. It's not uncommon to find long lines at every stop, making for a packed experience on any given day.
- A half-day usually suffices. Aim to reach the tunnels either before 8:30 AM or around 2:30 PM. By this time, the morning queues have dwindled, and the afternoon temperature is more pleasant.

What To Expect
Cu Chi Tunnels
8:00: We will pick you up at your hotel to start the Cu Chi Tunnels Half-Day Tour. We arrive in Cu Chi Tunnels (Ben Dinh or Ben Duoc). Then we will watch a propaganda film a wartime propaganda film showing how local guerilla fighters were “American Killing Heroes” (a short introductory video showing how the tunnels were constructed). We then spend the next hour exploring the maze of tunnels in Cu Chi. Also on display are various mantraps and the remains of an American tank as well as numerous bomb craters made by 500-pound bombs dropped by B52 bombers. Also, you can try real gun shooting for extra (only for over 18 year-olds). At 02.30 pm – 03.00 pm, we arrive in Ho Chi Minh City and finish Cu Chi Tunnels Half-Day Tour.

5.00We really enjoyed the tour especially as we were just the two of us. The driver was quiet but nice. The car was very comfortable and the journey was smooth and easy. 'Bunny' was our guide, she is friendly, funny and provided us with much information about both the country and its endless wars and, of course, explained a lot of things in detail during the visit of the tunnels. We stopped at a shop on the way to the tunnels and got to explore many spots (kitchen, meeting room....) before getting inside of of those tunnels (you can choose to walk in the narrow tunnel for 20, 30, 40, 60 or 100m, you can get out when you feel the need to). Overall it was a great visit and thank you, Bunny, for providing us with so much information!

5.00This was better than I expected. The tunnels and recreations of kitchen, sleeping quarters, etc. were well presented in context that made one feel the struggles of both sides and the misery that was endured. Go early in the day to avoid the big bus loads of people arriving mid-day. And take mosquito repellent as you will be in a forested area. Our guide Tuon was excellent, very personable and informative about not only the war and the tunnels, but also answered our general questions about life in Vietnam. He allowed us to go through at our own pace without feeling rushed or pressured. We were only a party of two so were taken in a very comfortable car with an excellent driver. Fairly long drive there but it was never boring as we were able to glimpse a little of life outside the city. Very interesting and educational tour that will be enjoyed by all ages… I could have done without the firing range but I suppose shooting guns appeals to some people who’ve never done it. Overall an unexpectedly enjoyable experience!
