- We recommend starting early.
- The Cu Chi Tunnels attract visitors daily, becoming particularly congested on weekends and Vietnamese holidays. It's not uncommon to find long lines at every stop, making for a packed experience on any given day.
- A half-day usually suffices. Aim to reach the tunnels either before 8:30 AM or around 2:30 PM. By this time, the morning queues have dwindled, and the afternoon temperature is more pleasant.

Such a fascinating tour even if you have zero knowledge on the Vietnam war. Huey was our tour guide and was extremely knowledgeable because he himself fought in this war! We did a private tour and were able to bypass the more crowded areas on the tour and circle back to them without the crowd.

It was very interesting and frightening to walk where American troops had been. Our guide, Huey, really knew the tunnel system and gave us a lot of information, even if it was scary! You are very lucky if you get Huey as your guide!

Very interesting and worthwhile tour our guide was Kevin , he delivered the tour in a relaxed and informative fashion . He certainly knows his subject which helps you understand the hardship and suffering experienced by the people who used the tunnels. Kevin took us to a disabled persons handicraft market on the way which is also very interesting, no pressure to buy which is nice . The tunnel experience in my opinion is very well organised ,there were no queues when we visited . The tour takes about 2 hours to walk round and you will get hot and sweaty in the tunnels . I really recommend this tour if you are interested in the history of the war . Thank you Kevin for a really enjoyable and informative morning .

Just back from a great morning tour - our guide Bunny was amazing - really knew her subject and told us all about the history of Vietnam and the wars that happened. We learnt all about the tunnels and even went into one of them. Would thoroughly recommend

Experienced tour guide Hieu was able to tell us about lived experiences during the Vietnam war. Must do if visiting Ho Chi Minh City. There is a opportunity to fire live rounds using guns used in the war such as carbines amd AK-47s.

We had the pleasure of Emily picking us up from our hotel for a private tour of the tunnels. She was so knowledgeable and genuinely made the day. She is a 5* guide.

Our day was great and with a first class service from start to finish. Our guide Johnny contacted us the evening before to confirm our itinerary. We were picked up from our hotel promptly at 8am, and when travelling Johnny gave us a brief idea what to expect. The trip was as expected, first class, a nice clean car and courteous driver. My wife has a walking disability and needs a walking pusher as an aid and nothing was too much trouble to help.

We booked a private Cu Chi Tunnels tour from Ho Chi Minh City for $100 (2 people, ~6 hours total). The experience included a 2-hour drive each way and about 2 hours at the site. The positive: our guide was an older gentleman who was exceptional. He was extremely knowledgeable, engaging, and generous with information. He answered all our questions thoroughly and clearly has deep historical insight. The driver was professional, and everything ran smoothly and on schedule. However, there was one aspect that detracted from the experience. During the tour, the guide mentioned that guides rely on tips for their livelihood. Then, on the drive back (just before getting out early) he reminded us again to tip the driver (...and implicitly himself). For a $100 private tour, this felt uncomfortable and unnecessary. Tipping should always be optional and voluntary. Being reminded twice at this price point takes away from what should feel like a premium experience. Overall, the tour itself was informative and well organized, and the guide was excellent. The operator, however, should reconsider how compensation is handled so guests don’t feel pressured at the end of an otherwise high-quality tour.
